Married at First Sight Chapter 940

Chapter 940
Jasmine smiled and said, “I’m afraid I’ll be a disturbance.”
“Not at all. I actually enjoy your company,” he replied.
Mrs. Bucham led Jasmine upstairs, seemingly aware of which room Josh had reserved for their meal. Upon entering, they found themselves in the private room that Josh had booked.
Once seated, Mrs. Bucham removed her exquisite charm bracelet. Then, she lifted Jasmine’s hand, which bore the bracelet Josh had given her, and took it off.
Next, Mrs. Bucham placed her own bracelet on Jasmine’s wrist and said, “Jasmine, since this is our first meeting and I didn’t prepare a gift, I’d like you to have my bracelet. The one from Josh, right? This charm bracelet is even finer.”
Having been born into a wealthy family and having a rich aunt, Jasmine had encountered various types of jewelry and could assess their worth.
The bracelet Josh had given her was quite expensive, estimated at around a hundred thousand dollars.
In comparison, the charm bracelet Mrs. Bucham offered was more elegant than Josh’s gift. It had a clear and beautiful design, undoubtedly indicating its high quality.
It was certainly valuable.
Jasmine felt hesitant to accept such a generous gift. She intended to remove the bracelet and return it to Mrs. Bucham, but Mrs. Bucham stopped her.
“Jasmine, do you think my gift lacks value? You must accept it. If you refuse, it implies you don’t find it valuable enough.”
Jasmine replied, exasperated, “Mrs. Bucham, this is far too precious.”
“It’s not. While it may appear valuable, it’s merely a bit pricier than the bracelet Josh gave you.”
Mrs. Bucham was determined to gift Jasmine the bracelet. Jasmine turned her gaze to Josh, seemingly seeking his input.

“Help,” she said. However, Josh gazed at her with a smile. Noticing her imploring expression, he laughed and remarked, “Jasmine, since my mom has given you the bracelet, you should just accept it. You’re the only one who deserves to wear it.”

This bracelet was one of the Buchams’ heirlooms. Although Mrs. Bucham’s bracelet was not as valuable as the one worn by the wife of the Buchams’ head, it was still far more precious than any gift Josh could offer.

The head of the Buchams’ wife had expressed her desire to pass her heirloom to her eldest daughter-in-law, but since her son was still single, she worried that no one would inherit it. Mrs. Bucham had heard this and also mentioned that she intended to pass her bracelet to her eldest daughter-in-law.

Now that Mrs. Bucham had given the bracelet to Jasmine, it signified her acknowledgment of Jasmine as her daughter-in-law.

It was no surprise that Mrs. Bucham was Josh’s mother; their behaviors were quite similar. Mrs. Bucham then placed Josh’s bracelet on Jasmine’s other wrist.

Jasmine found herself at a loss for words. Unable to refuse Mrs. Bucham, she accepted it with grace.

“Thank you, Mrs. Bucham,” she said.

Mrs. Bucham chuckled and replied, “You’re welcome. I really like you. By the way, are your parents available? I’ll inform Josh’s dad that I’d like to invite your parents out for a meal.”

Jasmine thought, ‘Is this going to be the occasion where both our families meet?’

It suddenly dawned on her why Josh hadn’t rushed to tell his family about his interest in her. Indeed, his family was eager for this connection.
