Married at First Sight Chapter 939

Chapter 939
“Josh!”
After Mrs. Bucham called for her son, she noticed him pulling a young girl inside, presumably to hide from her.
Unable to contain herself, Mrs. Bucham hurried forward, catching up with them quickly and stopping in front of Josh.
“Josh, you little rascal! Didn’t you hear me calling you?”
Mrs. Bucham scolded him first. Then, turning her attention to Jasmine, she smiled and said, “Young lady, don’t be shy. I had to give Josh a talking-to. How dare he ignore his mother and run away when I was calling him!”
“Mom.”
Josh never imagined he would encounter his mother here.
Mrs. Bucham examined Jasmine from head to toe and noticed she was holding a bouquet of flowers. Although Josh had released Jasmine’s hand, Mrs. Bucham clearly saw that he had been holding it just moments ago.
Giving flowers and holding hands were typical gestures of a couple.
When did that rascal start dating? He hadn’t even informed his family.
After confirming that the elegant middle-aged woman was indeed Josh’s mother, Jasmine confidently addressed her as “Mrs. Bucham.”
Mrs. Bucham responded to Jasmine’s greeting with a grin. Then she stepped into the space between them to stand beside Jasmine, warmly taking her hand that wasn’t holding the bouquet. “Young lady, what’s your name? Are you Josh’s girlfriend?”
Unexpectedly, Jasmine found herself meeting his parents.
If she denied being Josh’s girlfriend, Mrs. Bucham likely wouldn’t believe her.
She glanced at Josh before introducing herself. “Mrs. Bucham, my name is Jasmine Sox. I’m just a friend of Josh.”
“A female friend is essentially a girlfriend. So that means you’re Josh’s girlfriend.”

“Jasmine Sox sounds familiar to me. Have we met before?” Mrs. Bucham asked, cordially taking Jasmine’s arm as they walked together.

Jasmine replied honestly, “I’ve never seen you before. You probably know my name because of my embarrassing experience that made the rounds. A few months ago, I attended Mrs. Dawson’s birthday party with my aunt, Mrs. Lowe. I drank quite a bit that night and ended up sleeping on the floor. That incident likely circulated in your social circles.”

Mrs. Bucham laughed heartily before saying, “So it was you! That explains why your name sounds familiar. You’re Mrs. Lowe’s niece. She often brings you along to social events. I believe we’ve crossed paths at some gatherings, but we just never interacted.”

The Bucham women had always maintained a low profile. Even when they attended social events, they rarely engaged with others. They would have brief conversations with the event organizers before retreating to a corner to sit quietly until leaving after the meal.

However, this did not mean they were unaware of the goings-on in high society. As Jasmine mentioned, the story of her lying on the floor had become well-known.

“When did you start dating Josh? He didn’t mention anything about you when he got home. It seems he hasn’t returned in quite a while,” Mrs. Bucham inquired, curious about how long her son intended to keep this a secret if she hadn’t run into him and Jasmine here.

He hadn’t even informed his family about the girl he was interested in.

Josh, who had been walking with them, interjected, “Mom, Jasmine just told you she’s my friend. If I had mentioned it to you, you would have brought a crowd of people over. What if that scared Jasmine away and made her not want to see me anymore?”

Mrs. Bucham understood.

Although her son had not captured Jasmine’s heart, it was acceptable. Since her son was interested in Jasmine, she would be within his reach. Mrs. Bucham said with a smirk, “Don’t pay attention to Josh’s exaggerations. We’re very easygoing and won’t complicate things for young people. Jasmine, feel free to visit my house with Josh whenever you have the time.”
