Married at First Sight Chapter 730

Chapter 730
Serenity saw Josh and Duncan and exclaimed in surprise, “You mentioned you were having dinner with Mr. Bucham and a client. So, that client is Mr. Lewis?”
“Yes,” came the reply.
Zachary turned to his friends and gave them a signal, prompting the two men to approach one after the other.
“Mr. Bucham. Mr. Lewis,” he greeted them.
Serenity stood up and smiled as she greeted Josh and Duncan.
Jasmine also rose to her feet.
After everyone exchanged pleasantries, Serenity casually suggested, “If you don’t mind, you’re welcome to join us.”
“Sure!” Zachary replied eagerly.
Josh turned to Jasmine with a smile, asking, “Ms. Sox, do you mind?”
Jasmine noticed that the two men seemed to be overlooking Duncan, their important client. She looked at Duncan and said, “If Mr. Lewis doesn’t mind, we can eat together.”
Despite being the main guest, Duncan felt sidelined by the two men who were supposed to be hosting him.
Duncan thought, ‘So, they invited me just to be the third wheel, huh?’
His friends had their own partners, so why had they still invited him?
He wasn’t hungry and was already feeling overwhelmed by the romantic atmosphere.
“It’s up to the host,” Duncan said reluctantly.
Consequently, the three men naturally took their seats and ordered more dishes.
Once seated, Duncan instinctively asked Serenity, “Ms. Hunt, why didn’t your sister and Sonny join you for dinner?”
Everyone turned to look at him.
Duncan blinked, wondering, ‘Did I ask the wrong question?’
Serenity was always so kind to her sister and loved Sonny deeply, so it seemed unusual for her to go out for dinner without Liberty and her son. That was why he inquired about them. Why was everyone staring at him?

Serenity regained her composure and quickly responded, “My sister is trying to lose weight, so she prefers not to eat out. She believes that if she comes and doesn’t eat, it will affect our appetite. Sonny tends to be more attached to her at night, so if my sister doesn’t come, he won’t either.”

Duncan nodded in understanding, “Children his age often cling to their mothers. Sonny is typically scared of me, but I really like him. Every time I see him, I can’t help but want to give him a hug, though he doesn’t allow it.”

“Your sister’s weight loss efforts are quite effective. If she stays committed, she might reach her ideal weight in three months,” he added. At the start, Duncan had given Liberty three months to lose weight.

Serenity expressed her gratitude on her sister’s behalf. “Thank you for your concern, Mr. Lewis.”

Duncan smiled and replied, “She used to be my employee, and now she’s my tenant. That’s why I pay more attention to her, and I genuinely like Sonny.”

Noticing that everyone was still looking at him, Duncan finally asked, “Why are you all staring at me like that? Do you think I have a romantic interest in Liberty? Her ex-mother-in-law even asked me if I was pursuing her, but that’s not the case.”

“Ms. Hunt, I’m not implying that your sister isn’t a wonderful woman. I just want to clarify that my interest is solely in Sonny, which is why I’ve noticed his mother.”

Duncan felt that he often clashed with Liberty. Whenever he saw her, he worried about potential damage to his car.

Josh chuckled and said, “What are we thinking?”

“We weren’t thinking anything. Duncan, you’re being overly sensitive and overthinking this. But I guess it’s good that you’re sensitive,” came the response.

Duncan playfully kicked Josh under the table, emphasizing that his sole interest was in Sonny.

a bit more focus on Sonny’s mother.
