Chapter 731
Duncan initially noticed Liberty because of Zachary.
When Zachary and Serenity got married, Liberty became Zachary’s sister-in-law. To support his friend, Duncan charged Liberty less for the repair fee after she scratched his car.
He was aware that his friends had misunderstood his actions as having a crush on Liberty.
However, he didn’t feel the need to explain. The more he tried to clarify, the more suspicious he would seem, appearing defensive instead.
When the other men joined, Zachary ordered two bottles of wine. Duncan chose not to drink since he had to drive later, while Josh and Zachary enjoyed a bit without getting drunk.
After their meal, just as everyone was about to leave, Josh suddenly said, “Zachary, Duncan, how am I supposed to get home? I can’t drive since I’ve had a drink.”
Duncan immediately recognized that Josh was doing this on purpose, hoping Jasmine would take him home.
“I’m busy, so I’ll leave first,” Duncan quickly said, making his exit.
Zachary added, “I’ve also had a drink and can’t drive you home, Mr. Bucham. Ms. Sox, would you mind taking Mr. Bucham back?”
Serenity was about to suggest calling a substitute driver for Josh, but she quickly held back her words.
As their matchmaker, she needed to create opportunities for Josh.
In the end, Jasmine drove Josh home.
Upon returning to their home in Brynfield, Serenity and Zachary discovered that Mrs. Lane was absent. Just as Serenity was about to call her, Zachary said, “I gave Mrs. Lane the night off so we can enjoy some time alone.”
As he spoke, he moved behind Serenity, wrapped his arms around her waist, pulled her into his embrace, lowered his head to nuzzle her neck, and whispered, “Seren, call me Babe.”
“I enjoy it when you call me that.”
Serenity’s neck ached, and she wanted to push him away, but he wouldn’t let go. All she could say was, “Stop that, I’m ticklish.”
Zachary kissed her cheeks, earlobes, and neck with deliberate, feather-light touches that intoxicated Serenity.
She found it unbearable to be teased like this. It was maddening.
Turning in his arms, Serenity wrapped her arms around his neck and took the lead.
If he could tease her, so could she.
Zachary was much more sensitive than she was; just a bit of teasing from her was enough to drive him wild.
Sure enough, within two minutes, he swept her up in a bridal carry and spun around to head into his room.
“Zachary…”
“Call me Babe.”
“Babe, we haven’t showered yet…”
“We can shower together.”
Serenity blushed but didn’t protest.
Zachary carried his beautiful wife into the bathroom.
After what felt like an eternity, he emerged with Serenity in his arms.
He appeared refreshed, while she looked sleepy.
When he placed her on the bed, she mumbled something under her breath. Zachary leaned in to catch her words, but couldn’t hear her.
In just two minutes, Serenity was fast asleep.
The following day, she was awakened by the sound of the doorbell.
She reached out to confirm that the man was still beside her and kicked him without opening her eyes. “Zachary, go see who’s at the door.”
She was still exhausted.
Zachary was not someone who could be teased lightly. If he lost control from her teasing, she would be the one to bear the consequences.
