night owl friends.
Josh hurried to the Soxes’ residence, having never been there before but knowing its location well. As Zachary’s head of intelligence, he was well-informed about Jasmine. By the time he arrived, Jasmine had already showered and was ready for bed.
The unexpected call from Josh surprised her. Nevertheless, she answered, saying, “My brother must have sent you the text, Mr. Bucham. We’re home safe and sound.” Her brother had messaged Josh as soon as they arrived home, and Jasmine had seen him press the send button.
“I know you made it home safely, Ms. Sox. Zachary and his wife returned and realized they forgot their house keys. They asked me to help retrieve them from you. Do you have Ms. Hunt’s house keys in your car?”
Jasmine glanced at her best friend’s purse. “I believe the keys are in my car. I was planning to return them to her tomorrow. Doesn’t Mr. York have the house keys?”
Chapter 635
“He rushed home after learning his wife was out drinking at a bar. In his haste, he forgot his keys.”
Zachary’s anxiety and feelings for Serenity were palpable tonight, and Josh found the unfolding drama captivating.
Curious, Jasmine asked, “How did Mr. York know Serenity was out drinking while he was on a business trip?”
“I suppose he asked Mrs. Lane. She must have known you girls were out for drinks, which prompted him to rush back.”
Jasmine recalled that Mrs. Lane had been at the shop when Serenity mentioned going out for drinks, dispelling any doubts she had.
“Give me a moment to get dressed, and I’ll hand over Serenity’s house keys.”
“Sure.”
Jasmine quickly changed her clothes and grabbed her best friend’s purse.
As she went downstairs, she carried her friend’s purse. She took Serenity’s crafting supplies from her boot and handed them to Josh, asking him to deliver them to Brynfrield. Josh gazed at the individual building behind Jasmine. It was a five-story structure with a yard. Although it was too dark to see the furnishings clearly, he noticed the elegant chandelier hanging in the lobby. The Soxes’ residence must be quite lavishly decorated.
