Married at First Sight Chapter 634

Chapter 634
Josh made a positive impression on Drake. Jasmine was concerned that Drake might sell her out if the boys continued to communicate behind her back.
With a smile on his face, Josh pulled out his phone. “That’s very thoughtful of you, Drake. Let’s exchange numbers. I think we really clicked. How about dinner sometime?”
Drake eagerly took out his phone and shared his contact information before replying, “Well, we should get going, Mr. Bucham.”
“See you! I’ll treat you to dinner next time,” Josh said.
“Sure thing,” Drake responded.
Though Drake was thrilled, he quickly subdued his excitement after seeing his sister’s disapproving glare. He rubbed his nose and got into the car right away.
As they drove off, Josh watched the siblings leave.
Once they were at a distance, Jasmine scolded her brother, “Do you even know who Josh is? Why were you so friendly and exchanging numbers?”
“I don’t care who he is. What matters is that he was on a blind date with you and seems interested,” Drake replied.
Jasmine was taken aback. “Do you want me to kick you out of the house?”
“I don’t earn much, Jas. I only bring home eight thousand dollars a month. I can’t support you indefinitely, so my best advice is for you to find a lifelong partner. That would ease my burden.”
Jasmine would have kicked Drake if he weren’t driving.
“Did I ask you to support me, you brat? I earn more than you do.”
“I told Mom that I’d take care of you if you can’t find a man. I even asked her and Aunt Rachel to stop nagging you about it. That’s why I feel so pressured.”
Jasmine was both touched and amused. “We have rental income from properties. Isn’t that enough for my care?”
“The properties belong to Mom and Dad, not me. But I’ll ask our parents to give you a share when they start.”

“Splitting the inheritance. Even if you have to remain single, you should aim to be the wealthiest single woman.”

Jasmine was left speechless.

“Jas, who is Mr. Bucham? He seems to know Serenity’s husband.”

“He’s ‘the’ Mr. Bucham from York Corporation. You can look him up online. But don’t get too close to him. We only went on one blind date, and nothing came of it.”

“Serenity’s husband and Mr. Bucham are colleagues at the same company.”

While driving, Drake remarked, “Now that’s a genuine eligible bachelor. I should tell Mom later; she shouldn’t worry about your marriage.”

“I should prepare myself to care for you if an eligible bachelor like Mr. Bucham isn’t good enough for you.”

Jasmine laughed. “Alright, I have a good feeling about Josh. I’ll take it slow with our friendship.”

Drake thought Josh was a real gem. Jasmine might end up single if even Josh didn’t interest her.

“You should turn down Josh’s dinner invitation. He gets busy with work. Don’t take up his time.”

“He has to eat, even if he’s busy. He’ll still need to eat whether or not I join him. You can’t say I’m wasting his time. Besides, how am I supposed to know him and assess his character if I don’t spend time with him? A man’s true nature often shows among his peers.”

Even though Josh made a positive impression, Drake was determined to prioritize his sister’s happiness.

“He’s as cunning as a fox. You might end up doing his bidding without realizing it. His family is involved in gathering intel. He’s skilled at obtaining information.”

Stunned, Drake asked, “He’s part of that enigmatic Bucham family?”

“Yeah.”

“What a…

It was just a coincidence that I dreamed of mingling with the Buchams. I hope they can guide me through the process.” Jasmine felt uncertain. It was a mistake to have brought her brother along tonight. She couldn’t shake the feeling that he might betray her in order to join the Buchams’ intelligence network.
