Married at First Sight Chapter 618

**Chapter 618**

“Tell me, Hank. Did you offend all your clients? What happened?”

Hank had successfully secured numerous contracts and generated significant profits for the company. He joined Waltham Electronics right after graduation and had worked there for many years, earning a reputation as a tenured employee. The boss placed great trust in him and relied heavily on his contributions.

While there were many managers in the company, Hank was the youngest among them. He earned his promotion to manager by delivering impressive profits, which, although it sparked jealousy among other managers, went unchallenged.

The boss valued Hank highly. Whenever he was invited to a business reception but couldn’t attend, he would send Hank in his place to broaden their network and attract more clients for the company. Hank consistently met those expectations, and after attending the receptions, he successfully secured numerous contracts.

However, recently, all the contracts Hank had signed were either canceled or put on hold. Although some clients had simply changed their minds, the shift in Hank’s clients was particularly pronounced.

“I didn’t offend the clients, sir. I’ve always prioritized their needs. How could I have upset them?” Hank explained. “I will reach out to them again and do my best to salvage these orders and minimize losses.”

“You’ve already said that multiple times, but it hasn’t made a difference. Waltham has never faced such a severe crisis. Our workshop employees will have to take their annual leave early this year. If you can’t revive those orders, we may not even be able to reopen after New Year’s due to a lack of work!”

“Think carefully, Hank. Have you truly offended anyone? The current situation clearly indicates that the company is in jeopardy.”

We are being deliberately suppressed. Initially, we were on equal footing and competing with a branch of York Corporation. “Now that we’re being suppressed, they’re taking our business,” he exclaimed, clearly furious. Hank had been struggling to secure orders lately, and his boss was equally anxious. He recognized that they were being targeted and intentionally suppressed, but he had no idea who was behind it. The clients refused to reveal the truth, stating only that they could no longer work with Waltham Electronics. The company couldn’t even identify who was targeting them because the one suppressing them was taking great care to remain hidden.

Hank wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and said, “I really haven’t offended anyone, sir.” If he had to name someone he had offended, it would be his ex-wife, Liberty. However, Liberty lacked the ability to suppress him. Although Liberty had recently discovered that her aunt was married to the head of the Stone Group, that connection was confirmed just yesterday. Unfortunately, they had already been losing orders for several days, which had nothing to do with the Stone Group.

His boss stared at him for a long moment before saying, “Think it over again and see if you can figure out who you might have crossed.” Hank didn’t dare to respond. Wiping the sweat from his forehead, he walked out of the managing director’s office and returned to his own. Jessica noticed his poor demeanor and poured him a cup of warm water, asking with concern, “What did the boss want with you?”

“What else could it be? He scolded me,” Hank replied as he sat down in his chair and took two sips from the cup Jessica had given him. “The boss said we’re clearly being targeted and suppressed. He asked if I had offended anyone.” He sighed, “I just can’t think of anyone I’ve upset.”

“I’ve always made an effort to satisfy my clients. How could I ever upset them?”

*Ring, ring, ring…*

His cell phone buzzed.

It was Olivia.

“Hank, I miss Sonny. Please go to Serenity’s store after work to pick him up.”
