In my world,woman have no opinion,no choices ,we carry burdens. “A woman’s place us in the kitchen” i was 18 years when my father told me that, here I am in the Zulu homestead. I am a baby making machine, I’ve popped 3 babies while I’m 24 years old pregnant with the fourth one. Funny how I was brought here to be a baby making machine for MaZwane the first wife. Our marriage was a contract. My father’s business was collapsing,so he just hand me over,signed into court then boom i was the second wife of man who constantly cheats. Nothing good came out of this marriage other than my kids.
” There’s nothing you do more than popping babies MaZwide,you know very well that in this economy there’s high cost of living I don’t know how you think , nxxxx !”he shouts.

I picked my cellphone and called my mother,it rings 3 times before picking up.
“Yini Lethu?”(What Lethu?) She ask annoyed.
“He is beating me up again ma,he is at it.” I sobbed.
” You always find a way to make that man angry suck it up and be the woman that you’re suppose to be. A woman endures everything mntanami. You are his doormat everytime when he is angry let him do whatever he wants to do. I’m sure you were not obeying that’s why you were beaten up. Cook for him wear a sexy lingerie,give him mind blowing sex and apologies. Don’t disappoint me, bye.” She dropped the call that’s how it has always been ,she always tell me to SUCK IT UP.
