The Throne of Thorns Novel Chapter 482

Wings of Broken Time by Alina Das 482

Chapter 482

The crimson streak was stark and menacing.

Disbelieving, Hendrix raised a hand to his forehead. The moment his fingers touched the warm, wet blood, his face went deathly pale.

He turned to curse Honora, but another blow struck his head. This time, the impact was far more violent.

Hendrix lurched forward, nearly collapsing. His vision swam with black spots, and a roaring filled his ears as the world spun around him.

Before he could react, a third, a fourth, a fifth blow rained down on his head.

Finally, his strength gave out, and he crumpled to the floor.

“Go to hell! You animal!”

Honora stood over him, clutching an empty beer bottle, her eyes red with fury as she brought it down on the man’s head again and again.

“What’s the point of a maggot like you even being alive? Just die!”

She summoned every last ounce of her strength, smashing the bottle against Hendrix’s body relentlessly. Even after he lay lifeless on the floor, she didn’t stop, bending over his corpse and crazily hammering at his head.

Blood splattered everywhere–on her face, her clothes, the floor, the table, the sofa. Soon, the room was a canvas of crimson.

Only when her arms were completely drained of strength did the bottle finally slip from her grasp.

Honora collapsed onto the sofa, her eyes staring blankly at the man on the floor, his face beaten into an unrecognizable pulp.

Her mind, now eerily calm, began to rapidly assess the situation.

Hendrix was a ghost in the system, a degenerate gambler with no real social connections. Besides his creditors, no one would even know he existed. If he disappeared, no one but the loan sharks would care. As long as she disposed of the body, no one would ever know she had killed him.

Besides, she hadn’t killed a man; she’d put down an animal. An animal that deserved to be torn to pieces.

After a whirlwind of thought, Honora dressed, dragged the body into the bathroom, and began meticulously cleaning the floor, table, and sofa. Finally, she went to the kitchen and returned with a heavy cleaver, ready to deal with the corpse.

Suddenly, the doorbell rang.

Honora froze, her heart pounding as she stared in panic at the door. She held her breath, praying that whoever it was would simply leave.

But the bell kept ringing, insistent and unending. Then came the sound of heavy, angry kicks against

the door.

Honora quickly hid the cleaver under the toilet lid and shoved the body into the cabinet beneath the sink, She took a deep breath, composed herself, and walked to the door.

“Stop kicking!” she called out before opening it.

Standing outside was none other than Lucius.

Behind him, Milton was preening. “See, Mr. Lincoln? I told you it was her. I knew you had people grab her before, but that Livia got in the way. The second I got a tip on her whereabouts, I came straight to you.”

Before Lucius could speak, Honora dropped to her knees, clutching his legs in a desperate plea. “Mr. Lincoln, help me… I know you’re here to save me, right? I’ll do anything you ask, anything, if you just help me!”

Lucius looked down at her, his voice cold and flat. “And how exactly do you want me to save you?” Honora tilted her head back, meeting his icy gaze. “I killed someone,” she confessed. “I killed my father… I don’t want to die. I have my whole life ahead of me. I can’t let it end now!”
