The Throne of Thorns Novel Chapter 338

Wings of Broken Time by Alina Das 338

Chapter 338

With that, Larissa hung up.

Finley lowered his phone, his gaze fixed on the East Villa.

“I tried,” he muttered to himself. “Larissa, you wouldn’t listen. If something happens to Sapphira, don’t blame me

After ending the call, Larissa stared at her phone.

Finley’s call had been strange. It sounded like he knew something and was trying to warn her. An idea, sparked by her earlier conversation with Haskell, suddenly clicked into place.

Her eyes turned as cold as ice. She immediately dialed her beautiful new mother’s number.

Sapphira answered quickly, her voice as gentle as always. “Larissa, what’s wrong?”

Hearing that familiar, kind voice, the ice in Larissa’s eyes melted, replaced by a playful affection. “Mom, where are you right now?”

“What is it? Is everything okay at home?”

“Everything’s fine. I just miss you.”

Sapphira chuckled on the other end. “Is that so? I’ll be home right away!”

“Okay!”

After hanging up, Larissa’s expression turned cold once more. So, they wanted to go after her mother? She would make Paxton and his family understand that hurting Sapphira would have far worse consequences than hurting her.

Sapphira hung up and turned to the friend who was teaching her how to bake. “That was my daughter. She’s so clingy, said she missed me. I have to get going.”

Her friend looked up, a knowing smile on her face. “Sapphira, you’re learning to bake for her, aren’t you?”

Sapphira nodded. “Her birthday is in November. I want to make her a cake myself.”

“Look at you, you’re glowing,” her friend teased. “You really adore this daughter of yours.”

Just the thought of Larissa filled Sapphira with happiness. “She’s an amazing girl–so smart and talented. She’s bold and passionate, but also incredibly kind and sensitive. It’s hard not to love her.”

Seeing the soft look in Sapphira’s eyes, the friend laughed. “Well, if you miss your precious daughter so much, don’t let me keep you. Go on home!”

“Okay, I’ll be back tomorrow to continue our lesson,” Sapphira said, washing her hands and taking off her apron. She grabbed her bag and headed for the door. “I’ll see you then.”

Her friend watched her go, marveling at the change. Her once–stoic and unflappable friend now had

someone to truly care for.

Leaving her friend’s house, Sapphira got into her car.

“Dorian, let’s go home,” she instructed the driver. Then she pulled out her phone and started browsing different birthday cake designs online for inspiration.

The car doors locked, and the vehicle began to move. After a while, her eyes grew tired from looking at her phone, and she looked up. She realized they were going in the wrong direction.

“Dorian, this isn’t the way back to the Judson estate…”
