Chapter 337
“Dad, Larissa said she can wake Leopold up,” Finley argued, trying to reason with him. “If we move against Sapphira now and anger her, Leopold might never wake up.”
Paxton sneered. “She can wake him up? Even better. Once we have Sapphira, do you think Larissa will dare to disobey us? We can make her do whatever we want. Your poison, Leopold’s
coma–everything will be solved.”
Finley knew his father’s stubborn nature. He couldn’t be stopped.
Defeated, Finley fell silent.
Paxton looked at the son he had placed all his hopes in with disappointment. “The prosthetic specialist I found for you has arrived. You’re handing over Starlight Media to Larissa next month anyway, so take the next few days off and stay home to get fitted for the new prosthesis.”
Finley hesitated. “Dad, my leg is lame, but I can still walk. Getting a prosthesis means amputation…”
“I will not have my son, the future heir of the Judson family, be a cripple!” Paxton interrupted again. “You’ve endured Larissa’s poison for this long. So you can endure the pain of this procedure.”
Finley said nothing more.
“Use the next few days to reflect on how you let a little girl get the best of you,” Paxton said dismissively. He walked toward his study, pulling out his phone and dialing the number of their
former steward.
“Gareth, I have a job for you. If you do it well, I’ll let you come back to work for me at the Judson family…”
In the living room, Finley stood for a long moment before turning and leaving the West Villa. He would try one last time. If Larissa would agree to cure him and wake Leopold up immediately, perhaps his father would calm down and abandon his plan to go after Sapphira.
Outside the villa, he pulled out his phone and called Larissa. He waited anxiously, breathing a sigh of relief when she finally answered.
“Larissa.”
“What is it?” she replied coldly.
Her detached tone made Finley’s heart sink, but he pushed on. “Larissa, you said you could wake. Leopold up. Can you please go to the hospital right now and do it? If you wake him up, I’ll agree to any condition you have.”
Larissa laughed mockingly. “Finley, you’ve already lost your inheritance. What conditions could you possibly offer me?”
Her question was a dagger to Finley’s heart, leaving him speechless.
After a moment, he gritted his teeth. “Larissa, I’m doing this for your own good. You should cure me and wake Leopold up immediately. Otherwise…”
“Otherwise what?” she cut him off with a scoff. “Otherwise, things will end badly for me? After all this

time, threats are still all you know?
Finley, let me tell you something. I’ll wake Leopold up when I feel like it, not when you order me to. If that’s all you have to say, I’m hanging up. I thought you might actually have something new to say for a change.”
“Larissa, why can’t you just listen for once! I’m begging you! This time, I’m really trying to help you!”
“Oh, so all your previous apologies and attempts to make amends weren’t sincere?” Larissa laughed again. “Forget it, Finley. I’m not interested in you trying to be good to me now. It’s too late.”
