The Girl in the Mirror’s Price Novel Chapter 5

Stole My Name to Date A Billionaire by Mark Twain 5

Chapter 5

Chapter 5

Grayson’s eyes locked on my face.

Those cold, arrogant eyes flickered-undeniable shock, raw attraction.

The chaos around us faded to white noise.

His throat bobbed. His voice came out softer than before.

“You’re… the Morgan Pharma heiress?”

I met his gaze head-on, nodded once.

“That’s me.”

My voice wasn’t loud. But it hit Kaia like a bomb.

“SERAPHINA MORGAN!”

She whipped around, eyes bulging from the slits her swollen face allowed, screaming.

“How did you-”

How did you lose the weight?!

How DARE you lose the weight?!

Everything she couldn’t say was written all over that twisted face.

Grayson’s gaze finally shifted to the blob of flesh on the ground. His brow furrowed into a knot.

He held up his phone. Screen showed Kaia’s filtered, sweet-girl selfie.

He looked at the photo, then at me.

The confusion in his eyes deepened.

“So the person I was talking to online-that was you?”

He was asking me. His tone carried a hint of hope he didn’t even realize was there.

But before I could answer.

Kaia scrambled off the ground like a lunatic, lunged forward and grabbed his arm.

“Gray! It was ME! I’m the one you were talking to!”

She clung to him like a mountain of flesh, tears and snot smeared across her face, looking both pathetic and horrifying.

“The photos are me! The chats are me! Gray, look at me-I’m the Seraphina you were talking to!”

“I just… I just got sick! That’s why I look like this!”

Chapter 5

She fumbled for her phone, trying to shove it in his face.

“Look at the chat logs! Listen to my voice!”

Grayson didn’t look at the screen.

His gaze stayed heavy on my face. “You tell me.”

Watching Kaia lose her mind, I suddenly remembered last life-all those sob stories she’d fed Grayson.

I took a soft breath.

When I looked up at Grayson again, my eyes glistened with unshed tears.

“Gray…”

“It was always me.”

I ignored Kaia completely. Just focused on Grayson, feeding him the exact same script she’d used last life.

“I used Kaia’s photos because I was insecure back then.”

“But your affection made me want to become better.”

“So I spent these three months losing weight-just so I could stand in front of you like this, as my best self.”

Grayson’s eyes darkened as he stared at me.

Emotion rolled in his eyes-moved, softened, hooked.

Just like that-he believed it.

“NO! That’s not true! She’s lying!” Kaia finally caught on, screaming hysterically.

“Gray, don’t believe her! She’s the fraud!”

Grayson didn’t even glance back at her.

He reached into his pocket, pulled out the Ferrari keys, and gently placed them in my palm.

“Sera. You’ve been through a lot.”

I looked at him, didn’t take it right away. Tears clung to my lashes.

“But… I lied to you…”

“Doesn’t matter anymore.” He cut me off, voice softening.

“The you standing in front of me now-that’s all that matters.”

“NO-!!”

Kaia exploded into a desperate shriek.

She tried to lunge forward again. Grayson stopped her with a single look.

Chapter 5

Two bodyguards stepped up immediately, grabbing her by both arms.

“Impersonation. Slander.”

Grayson’s voice went ice-cold.

“Contact the school. I don’t want to see this person again.”

“Gray! It’s Seraphina who’s lying-mmph!”

Her mouth got covered by a guard’s hand.

All that was left were muffled whimpers as she got dragged away like a dying dog.

Kaia got expelled.

Sick, bloated, and forgotten-she disappeared fast.

Grayson started officially courting me.

Flowers. Gifts. Daily check-ins like clockwork.

He didn’t hide his favoritism. Even pulled Blackwell family resources to back my weight-loss formula launch.

A month later, we made it official.

At the same time, my career exploded.

Sera’s 90-Day Miracle became a viral phenomenon.

The herbal formula sold out the second it hit shelves and became Morgan Pharma’s biggest hit in a decade.

I didn’t stop. I used my first big payout to incubate more brands.

Soon enough.

My weight-loss formula hit a billion in cumulative sales.

Grayson booked the city’s top private club to celebrate.

Crystal chandeliers. Champagne flowing.

Everything was perfect.

Until a figure walked toward our table, carrying a glass of red wine.
