Chapter 893
“Indeed, the head of their family is similar to you; he also got married unexpectedly. His wife, who grew up in the countryside, had much better luck than you. Although she was adopted, her adoptive parents treated her as if she were their own and raised her well.”
“She has adoptive parents who truly love her, and an older brother who spoils her tremendously. Later, she discovered her biological parents were from the wealthiest family in Meadspring. Overnight, her status transformed from a rural girl to the daughter of the prestigious Lafayette family in Meadspring. She is a perfect match for the head of the Johnson family, both in status and identity.”
Elisa, being from the Stone family, was well-versed in the affairs of the gentry.
Her cousin was not as fortunate as Mrs. Johnson.
“Seren, do you think I should go over and greet him? I’ve met Remy several times before.”
Serenity chuckled. “Since you know each other, go ahead and say hello.”
“I think so too. Stay here while I go greet him. Why did he come to the hospital with so many bodyguards? Is he afraid the nurses will poke him to death?”
Serenity burst into laughter.
Elisa muttered about Remy acting superior as she walked toward him.
However, he turned and dashed away before she could reach him.
He hurried toward the washroom.
His bodyguards looked anxious and bewildered.
“What’s wrong with Mr. Johnson?” Elisa asked curiously.
Given Remy’s reaction, it appeared to be… diarrhea.
Remy’s bodyguards were also surprised to see Elisa; they hadn’t expected the daughter of the Stone family to be here while Remy dealt with his predicament.
“What brings you here, Ms. Stone?” a bodyguard asked abruptly.
Elisa replied, “I’m keeping my cousin company while she’s getting
“She received an infusion and got hurt. Is Mr. Johnson experiencing stomach discomfort?”
The bodyguard hummed in response, remaining mostly silent.
“Has he seen a doctor?”
“Yes. He was prescribed medication and needs an IV infusion.”
Elisa expressed her concern, “Is it that serious?”
The bodyguard did not respond.
Elisa sensed their hesitance to reveal the true reason Remy required an infusion. She decided to stop inquiring and returned to sit beside Serenity.
When Remy emerged from the restroom, the nurse had already prepared the IV drip and was ready to administer the infusion.
Remy had initially intended to lie down in the ward for the procedure, but upon seeing Elisa, he instinctively straightened his back and approached with his bodyguards, trying to appear composed.
“Hello, Mrs. York and Ms. Stone.”
Serenity was now well-known in Wiltspoon, and everyone was aware of the young missus of the York family who had seemingly appeared out of nowhere.
If it weren’t for Zachary and Josh, Serenity would have been inundated by the media and unable to remain here quietly for her infusion.
At first, Serenity didn’t even realize that “Mrs. York” referred to her.
Elisa then asked, “What happened to you, Mr. Johnson?”
“I suddenly came down with stomach flu. I felt nauseous, was frequently vomiting, and also had abdominal pain and diarrhea along with a fever. I couldn’t bear it anymore, so I came to the hospital.”
Elisa replied, “Oh, that sounds quite rough. You should drink more water.”
“Thank you for your concern, Ms. Stone,” he said.
He then noticed Serenity’s finger wrapped in gauze and asked with worry, “You’re injured?”
Serenity smiled wryly, “I wanted to see if the scissors were sharp and ended up cutting my hand.”
Remy was at a loss for words.
He glanced at Serenity and Elisa, pondering, ‘Why is Elisa here instead of Zachary when Mrs. York is hurt?’
He settled into the chair next to Serenity to receive his infusion.
This way, he could converse with Elisa while he waited.
The bodyguards assisted Remy in getting his medication and poured him a glass of warm water for the pills. Combined with the infusion, this would aid in his recovery.
