Serenity felt a sense of tranquility as she enjoyed a deep sleep during the latter half of the night. It was as if a hot water bottle was nestled beside her, radiating warmth. She slept exceptionally well, cradling this comforting warmth throughout the night.
Perhaps it was the delightful food in her dreams that caused her to occasionally smack her lips.
When she awoke the next morning and noticed Zachary lying next to her, she propped her head on one hand and gazed at his sleeping face. Yet, her mind drifted back to the delectable dishes from her dreams.
In her dream, someone had invited her out to eat, and the table was laden with an array of delicious treats. She indulged herself, savoring every bite until her mouth was slick with oil. Reaching out to stroke Zachary’s face, Serenity murmured to herself, “You’re such an unfortunate one. I wanted to bring you those two big chicken thighs, but I just couldn’t hold onto them.”
She leaned down to give his handsome face a quick peck before rising to prepare breakfast.
Today, they were headed to Whitmore Mansion. Remembering her dream and her inability to bring those chicken thighs back for Zachary, Serenity decided to venture out to buy some as a special breakfast treat for him.
It was raining outside, and the wind added a chill to the air. Holding an umbrella, Serenity dashed to her car and quickly got inside after unlocking it. Once she started the engine, she turned on the heater to warm up gradually.
Fortunately, the supermarket would remain open until the afternoon on Christmas Eve. Serenity made her way to the supermarket and purchased
Two large chicken thighs were purchased by her. Since she enjoyed chicken wings, she bought two pieces for herself along with some other items before heading home. Zachary was still asleep when she arrived. As Serenity made breakfast in the kitchen, she muttered, “Last night, he went to God-knows-where to do God-knows-what, and he still hasn’t woken up.”
