Married at First Sight Chapter 706

Chapter 706
Clive recounted the entire phone conversation he had with Zachary to his wife, dispelling any doubts about his sexual orientation.
Zachary did not inform Serenity about Clive’s invitation to meet up.
He returned to the house and joined his wife on the sofa to watch television.
They enjoyed the program until Serenity began to yawn. Zachary eagerly turned off the TV and carried her upstairs.
In the bedroom, Zachary lay next to Serenity for a chat. Their conversation ended when Serenity fell silent. Tilting his head, Zachary realized she had drifted off to sleep.
Zachary propped himself up and leaned closer, murmuring, “Seren. Seren.”
Serenity was too deeply asleep to notice what was happening around her.
Feeling at ease, Zachary kissed her cheeks and softly whispered, “Goodnight, Seren.”
He then pulled up the covers and quietly slipped out of bed.
Zachary tucked Serenity in, grabbed his coat, and stealthily exited the bedroom.
Once outside the villa, Zachary called his chauffeur and security detail to meet him at the Grand Hotel.
He planned to make a grand entrance to meet Clive.
Clive had instructed Zachary to meet him at the Grand Hotel at midnight, and Zachary arrived right on time.
Not a minute late.
“Sir,”
a team of bodyguards approached Zachary.
Zachary stepped out of the car and headed straight inside, saying, “Keep up.”
His security detail followed him into the Grand Hotel.
Since it was midnight, the hotel was relatively quiet.
Clive must have notified the receptionists in advance, as the hotel staff did not appear surprised by Zachary’s arrival.
Zachary took the green channel all the way to the top floor of the hotel.
Similar to the Wiltspoon Hotel, the Grand…

The hotel featured a presidential suite on the top floor, reserved exclusively for Clive. Upon reaching the top floor, Zachary, accompanied by his security detail, arrived at the entrance to the suite. Two men in black stood guard at the door; they were the Stones’ bodyguards. Unlike Zachary, Clive preferred not to flaunt his security; he would only bring two bodyguards to social events, but most of the time he went without any protection.

Zachary would argue that his security detail was necessary to protect his chastity, rather than for show. The two bodyguards extended their hands to stop Zachary.

With a frown, Zachary shot a sharp glare at the bodyguards and coldly stated, “Mr. Stone invited me.” One of the bodyguards politely responded, “Mr. Stone is expecting you inside, Mr. York, but you’ve arrived empty-handed.” Zachary frowned. “What do you mean by that?”

The bodyguard explained patiently, “Mr. York, Mr. Stone noted that he is your wife’s cousin, making him your relative. Since this is your first meeting, he won’t see you unless proper etiquette is observed. You can return, and he will meet with your wife tomorrow instead.”

Zachary grimaced. “How can this be our first meeting? I’ve known Mr. Stone for years. Don’t you know that?”

“Mr. Stone specified that this is your first encounter since becoming family,” the bodyguard replied. Zachary was left speechless. Clive was indeed Serenity’s family, and it was considered impolite to arrive empty-handed when visiting one’s wife’s relatives for the first time.

After a brief silence, Zachary relented. He turned to Sam and instructed, “Sam, could you check if there’s any shop open at this hour? Just buy whatever you can find.” As long as he had something to offer Clive, he would be satisfied.
