Zachary was initially concerned that his mother might give Serenity a hard time. He quickly finished preparing the last dish and rushed out of the kitchen. Just as he was about to exit, his mom and wife entered, engaged in conversation and laughter.
He paused, a smile spreading across his handsome face.
Zachary realized he had no reason to worry.
Serenity had a talent for creating an atmosphere that left his mother with nothing to criticize.
“Mom,”
Zachary called out to his mother affectionately.
“I caught a whiff of something delicious the moment I walked in. I see your cooking hasn’t declined,”
Tania praised her son before turning to Serenity. “You have to keep it up, Serenity. Don’t let him get the upper hand.”
