Married at First Sight Chapter 604

Chapter 604
Mrs. Lane defended her boss. “Ms. Hunt, although I haven’t worked with you for long, I have a strong sense of character judgment. Mr. York and your former brother-in-law are completely different types of people. Mr. York possesses a deep sense of responsibility and will not shy away from his duty to care for you as his wife.”
“From my perspective, Mr. York struggles to communicate with women and prefers to maintain distance from young women who approach him. He rarely engages with Ms. Sox, acknowledging her presence without getting too close. He is an intelligent man, the kind who remains loyal and doesn’t look at other women. Ms. Hunt, don’t let your sister’s failed marriage instill fear in you.”
“Love is a beautiful thing, and many marriages have happy endings. Not every union is like your sister’s. I spent many years as a nanny to Mr. York’s youngest cousin, and they come from a good family.”
“Mr. York’s parents, uncles, and aunts are dedicated to their relationships and marriages. The men in their family are responsible and loyal to their wives.”
“Mr. York has grown up in this supportive environment. Despite the prevalence of broken marriages around him, he remains committed to his own. If you ever find yourself at odds with him or suspect he is withholding something, communicate openly. Consider his perspective; there is usually a reason behind people’s actions.”
Reflecting on Zachary’s proud nature, Serenity recognized that he was far more dependable than Hank.
Moreover, Zachary had stood by her through various challenges long before they developed feelings for one another.
This demonstrated Zachary’s sense of responsibility far more than Hank’s.
She remarked, “Our marriage will endure as long as Zachary remains faithful. If he keeps things from me, it suggests he doesn’t trust me enough. While I may feel anger, I will strive to…”

He aimed to understand and improve himself so that she would have complete confidence in him. This way, he believed she would feel comfortable communicating with him about anything. Mrs. Lane nodded in agreement. “That’s exactly right. It’s all about understanding and trust between partners. Communication and empathy are essential for a lasting marriage.”

When Mr. Zachary returned from his business trip, Mrs. Lane planned to encourage him to be honest. The longer he kept the truth from her, the angrier she would become. Serenity sipped half of her glass of water and glanced at the clock; it was eleven o’clock at night. “It’s getting late, Mrs. Lane. You should get some rest. I’m heading to my room to wash up,” she said.

She also sent Zachary a text message, as he had reminded her repeatedly before leaving that she should keep in touch. “Goodnight, Ms. Hunt,” Mrs. Lane said before heading to her own room.

Even though Grandma May was no longer there, Serenity chose to stay in Zachary’s room instead of returning to her own. Half an hour later, she lay under the covers but still felt cold. She got up to turn on the heater to warm the room. Then, she sent a message to Zachary.

[Hot water bottle, are you finished with work yet?]

Zachary was swamped with tasks but kept an eye on his phone. He felt frustrated that he hadn’t received a single message from Serenity. True, he had asked her to text him at night, but there was no need for her to wait until midnight to do so. Did she really not miss him?

That seemed plausible. She had been humming a tune and wishing he would leave while packing his luggage. As if she would actually miss him. Now that she had finally messaged him, she called him a hot water bottle. It took a lot of self-control for Zachary not to lose his temper.

Zachary, not wanting to type, decided to call Serenity instead.
