Married at First Sight Chapter 478

Chapter 478
As Serenity promptly transferred the money to his daughter-in-law, Mr. Brown let out a small sigh of relief.
The funds were designated for his grandson, ensuring they were not going to an outsider.
If the money had gone to his son, it would have ultimately ended up in his daughter’s hands.
After leaving the Reptons’ residence, Rowan insisted on driving Zachary’s car.
In the vehicle, he turned to Serenity and said, “Serenity, why didn’t you call me when you all came over to argue yesterday? I felt excluded.”
Serenity glanced at her youngest brother-in-law and replied, “You’re still a minor. We need to protect minors.”
“Actually, both Matthew and I are minors. If we fought, it would just be two minors going at it.”
“We didn’t need to intervene. Let his father teach him a lesson. Didn’t you hear what his wonderful mother said? She wanted us to compensate her, but she couldn’t claim anything from us since he was beaten by his father, not by us.”
“Nana said I’d just be an accessory, even if I had gone.”
He pouted and added, “Maybe I really am just an accessory.”
Zachary asked quietly, “What else do you want?”
Rowan promptly fell silent.
In truth, their visit today was to support their sister-in-law.
The negotiations were entirely handled by Serenity, while Zachary chose not to interfere.
As Sonny’s aunt, Serenity was better positioned to seek justice for him than any of the others.
Noticing that Rowan appeared intimidated by her husband, Serenity spoke up for him. “Zachary, don’t frighten Rowan. He means well.”
“Yeah, Zachary only knows how to scare me. Serenity, you might not know this, but he’s even stricter than my dad. Every time he sees me at home, he sends me a huge box of workbooks and makes me solve problems endlessly. He just can’t stand to see me doing nothing.”
Since the first time Rowan met Serenity, he had firmly clung to her, convinced that his eldest brother would eventually be wrapped around her fingers.
It turns out he had a good eye; he was spot on!
Now, Zachary was treating Serenity more favorably as time went on.
“I’m doing this for your own good. Study hard so you can get into a good university,” he insisted.
“Your academic performance is the worst among the nine of us,” Zachary added coldly.
Rowan paused. “I’m just a step away from skipping grades like all of you did. Besides, I’ve always ranked among the top ten. I’ll have no problem getting into a good university later on.”
Among the nine brothers, eight of them were top students, while he was the only one considered an underachiever.
However, to other students’ parents, an “underachiever” like him was still seen as a top student.
It was truly exasperating!
Rowan remembered that since he started high school, all eight of his brothers would send him workbooks and mock exam papers to practice endlessly whenever they returned to the old residence. He often wanted to run away from home during those times.
No, he just didn’t want all eight of his brothers to come back to the old residence.
The old residence did not welcome them!
Serenity was stunned. “Rowan, did all your brothers skip grades?”
“Yes, they all skipped several grades. I’m the only one progressing one step at a time.”
Serenity was left speechless.
She imagined having Zachary’s children, knowing they would likely be top students as well!
