Married at First Sight Chapter 436

Chapter 436
It was often said that the elderly women of the gentry were difficult to please, but Grandma May was warm and approachable, resembling an ordinary grandmother. She typically dressed in simple clothing that made her seem far removed from the gentry.
Zachary’s gaze was intense as he gently touched the top of her head and remarked softly, “You’re a very practical person who doesn’t indulge in fantasies.”
“I’m someone who embraces reality. Even if I wanted to dream, it would depend on the nature of the dream. Wasting time on unrealistic fantasies is pointless, and it can affect my sleep as well,” she replied.
Zachary pressed his lips together and said nothing further.
After spending a leisurely half-day, the couple rejoined Grandma May and the others.
They chose an intriguing restaurant for lunch. If it weren’t for the modern amenities inside, Serenity might have believed they had stepped back in time to an old tavern.
Sonny was particularly joyful that day.
Grandma May and Mrs. Lane took him to feed the fish, providing him with as much fish food as he desired, allowing him to indulge to his heart’s content.
It’s easy to become tired from having fun, and he fell asleep in Serenity’s arms before finishing his meal.
“Zack, Nana is getting old and can’t walk that far. Why don’t you take Seren for an afternoon stroll while Cecilia and I rest here with Sonny? Let’s stay the night; that way, we can truly enjoy ourselves.”
Zachary responded with a faint hum of agreement.
Serenity suggested, “Or we could head back?”
Grandma May replied, “Since you’re here, you should fully explore the area. It would be a shame to return after only seeing half of the resort and wasting the ticket.”
“It’s alright, Seren. You and Zack can stroll through the French garden. I’ve been here several times, so it won’t matter if I don’t go again. Don’t worry about Sonny.”

Cecilia and I will take care of him.”

With Grandma May’s advice in mind, Serenity decided not to let the tickets go to waste. After enjoying the meal, she took a brief rest and continued spending time with Zachary.

Zachary confidently took her hand, and from behind, the young couple appeared as lovebirds.

Grandma May quickly pulled out her cellphone and captured photos and videos of the couple walking away.

She remarked, “I’ll take a picture and send it to Zack so he can look back on it later. I wish him well. My goal is not just to hold my great-granddaughter but to ensure the couple becomes a genuine couple, not merely one in name.”

Mrs. Lane chuckled, “Mr. Zachary has finally acknowledged his feelings for the missus. He’s certainly making swift moves.”

After all, he was the head of the York family, and his decisions were usually decisive.

Mrs. Lane firmly believed that Zachary would win Serenity over soon.

“That’s not necessarily the case. Some individuals, like Zack, may have high IQs but low emotional intelligence. It’s not so bad, though. At least there’s progress. I was genuinely worried when they had a misunderstanding and entered a cold war a while back.”

“It’s normal for couples to have misunderstandings,” she replied.

Mrs. Lane thought, ‘Mr. Zachary and the missus married out of convenience without an emotional foundation, so they still struggle to trust each other completely. Misunderstandings, conflicts, and cold wars are to be expected.’

Grandma May stopped taking pictures and said, “I hope they won’t face any more misunderstandings in the future. Given Zack’s character, once he falls for someone, it’s a lifelong commitment. He tends to be domineering and has a strong desire to control. If they have another fallout, who knows how long it will take for them to reconcile?”

She sighed, thinking about her grandson concealing his identity to observe.

Serenity’s character was a landmine; once it detonated, the consequences would be unfathomable. However, this was the path Zachary had chosen for himself. Regardless of the fallout, he had to face the repercussions alone.
