After Jasmine departed, Zachary called his bodyguards to arrange for them to pick him up from the hotel.
His bodyguards always shadowed him. Upon receiving his call, they promptly arrived at the hotel to meet him.
“First, take me to the jewelry store,” Zachary instructed the driver as he entered the car.
The driver responded respectfully, “Yes, sir.”
In a bustling metropolis like Wiltspoon, there were numerous jewelry stores, including one conveniently located en route from the hotel to his office.
The driver halted at the entrance of the store.
“You don’t need to accompany me inside,” Zachary said in a low voice before exiting the car alone and entering the jewelry store.
He was efficient when shopping, quickly selecting a pair of gold rings, paying for them, and waiting for the clerk to place the rings in two red brocade boxes and into a bag. Zachary then took the bag and simply turned to leave.
The clerk watched him depart. Once Zachary was in the car, the clerk averted his gaze and sighed inwardly, ‘It seems that stunning men like him truly exist.’
‘He’s mature, composed, tall, handsome, regal, and cool! He bought a pair of rings, so he must have a girlfriend.’ The driver drove off after Zachary entered the car.
Jim turned to Zachary. “It’s not for you,” he stated coldly.
Jim quickly added, “Mr. Zachary, I was merely curious. I have no ulterior motives.”
‘Even if it were for me, I wouldn’t dare accept it. It’s a ring!’
Zachary opened one of the brocade boxes and slid the ring onto his left ring finger.
Jim realized then that Zachary was publicly declaring his marital status. He thought, ‘Is Mr. Zachary planning to come clean to his wife?’
“Mr. Zachary, can we address Missus as ‘Missus‘ when we see her in the future?”
Zachary glanced at him and replied quietly, “No. Continue calling her as you have been.”
Jim was left speechless.
‘I misunderstood.‘
‘Mr. Zachary isn’t trying to reveal his identity to Missus.‘
‘In that case, what does he mean by wearing that ring?‘
Soon, Jim discovered the true reason behind Zachary’s ring.
The car was once again forced to halt in front of the office building because Ms. Stone was waiting there.
Jim removed his hat in respect to Elisa. ‘She waits here every day without fail. Despite Mr. Zachary’s indifference, she still comes here without any shame.‘
“Mr. Stone is likely powerless against his sister,” he added. “Given Mr. Zachary’s temperament, he will undoubtedly employ a method that will break Ms. Stone’s heart and compel her to give up on him.”
‘I’m unsure of his thoughts. He only contacted Mr. Stone once, asking him to come and take Ms. Stone away, but that was it.’ “Zachary.”
Elisa, holding an insulated lunchbox and a bouquet of flowers, blocked the road. She shouted at the man in the car, “I won’t move unless you step out, Zachary.”
For the past two days, she had waited along the route he took from his villa, but had been unable to meet him.
She suspected he was evading her.
He owned several houses, and she had no idea which one he was staying in. Ultimately, she decided it was best to wait in front of the company, ensuring she wouldn’t miss him.
Zachary sat quietly in the car for a minute before reaching out, opening the door, and stepping out. “Zachary.”
