Married at First Sight Chapter 1055

Chapter 1055
Grandma May was pleased to see the manor’s gate open.
She glanced back at Duncan’s car following behind them.
Liberty and her son were in his vehicle.
Trailing Duncan’s car was Darrell’s family of three.
Clive stayed behind to support his pregnant wife, Alice, who was suffering from morning sickness. She was unable to keep anything down and preferred to remain in bed all day, making it difficult for them to leave the house.
The Stones’ second son was rarely home, and Mrs. Stone hadn’t invited him along. It sufficed for her and her husband to attend with Elisa.
Zachary guided everyone to park in the open lot.
Sam, the manor’s head butler, greeted everyone with a warm smile.
As Zachary opened his car door, Sam stepped forward to assist Old Mrs. York. However, she pushed him away, refusing his help, as she believed it would make her appear weak when she was clearly strong.
“Old Mrs. York,”
Sam greeted her respectfully with a smile.
Grandma May waited for Serenity to join her and said, “Seren, this is Sam, the manor’s head butler. He has been with us for over 20 years and has watched Zachary and his brothers grow up.”
As the head butler, Sam managed many other butlers. With the myriad responsibilities at the manor, each task was overseen by a butler. Only when issues arose that could not be resolved did they turn to Sam for assistance.
In many ways, the management of Wildridge Manor mirrored that of York Corporation.
“Hello, Uncle Sam.”
Having worked at the manor for over 20 years and having seen Zachary and his brothers grow up, Sam was regarded as an elder there. Thus, Serenity greeted him as a junior.
“Good day, missus.”
As Sam smiled, Serenity sensed him evaluating her. She surmised that she must be well-known in the manor.
Duncan approached, carrying Sonny in his arms.
“Aunt Ser,” he called out.
Sonny pouted and looked like he was about to cry. Upon seeing Serenity, he reached out his arms, wanting her to hold him instead.
Duncan handed Sonny to Serenity, saying helplessly, “Sometimes he wants me to carry him, and other times, when I do, he acts like he’s just been bitten by a tiger.”
“I’ll go help your sister carry some things,” he added.
Duncan only intended to pass Sonny off and returned to assist Liberty with some items.
Along with Liberty, Mrs. Stone had also prepared a plethora of gifts, completely filling the back of their bodyguard’s car.
Liam and Tania stepped out of the house, soon followed by two middle-aged couples—Zachary’s uncles and aunts.
Serenity had previously met the Yorks, but this was her first visit to the manor.
Seeing the large gathering, Duncan sighed internally.
He never imagined that his offhand excuse would lead to a meeting between the Yorks and the Hunts.
Serenity and Zachary greeted the elders together.
After responding with a smile, Tania warmly welcomed Liberty and Mr. and Mrs. Stone before inviting them inside. Although Liberty was still young, it was clear that she had raised Serenity and acted as a mother figure to her little sister.
Tania treated her mother-in-law, Liberty, with respect.
However, she had little to say to Mrs. Stone, likely due to their sons having been rivals for many years.
