Zachary looked at her and replied, “There’s no need. No matter whom you offend, I will always stand by your side.”

Serenity sighed, “Zachary, you’ll spoil me if you keep trusting me like this.”

“That’s exactly my intention. I’ll spoil you so thoroughly that no one else will be able to tolerate you. That way, you will always be mine, and no one will dare to take you away.”

Serenity couldn’t help but laugh. “Who would dare to take me away after knowing I’m your wife?”

Shawn had secretly loved her for many years and didn’t give up even after learning she was married. He hoped she might still choose him after a divorce. However, when his mother informed him that Serenity’s husband was Zachary York, the heir of the York family, Shawn finally surrendered.

“She’s not here. I’m not in a rush to call her back,” he replied, wanting to spend some private time with Serenity first.

Once inside, Zachary quickly retrieved Serenity’s indoor slippers from the shoe rack and urged her to change out of her shoes.

Serenity sighed contentedly after slipping into her slippers. “Slippers are the best,” she said.

“If you’re not accustomed to wearing high heels, just stick to flats in the future. You’re already quite tall, and you’ll still be taller than most without the heels,” Zachary advised. He wanted to ensure that his beloved wife wasn’t putting her feet through unnecessary pain.
