Wings of Broken Time by Alina Das 330
Chapter 330
“Cat got your tongue? Did I hit a little too close to home?”
When Larissa remained silent, Honora’s delight grew. Finally, in her long battle with Larissa, she had
won.

An hour crawled by.
At last, Larissa finished her work in the herb garden, stretching her back with a soft groan before standing up.
Honora’s patience had worn thin. She struggled to keep the irritation out of her voice. “Larissa, since you already promised Finley you’d cure me, could you please just do it? I have to get to the hospital to see Leopold.”
She knew Larissa was making her wait on purpose, but since she needed something from her, she couldn’t show any emotion.
Still silent, Larissa peeled off her muddy gloves and walked toward the fence where Honora was waiting impatiently. When she was standing right in front of her, Larissa’s hand shot out, and she slapped Honora hard across the face.
The blow was so sudden and forceful that Honora stumbled back, her sunglasses flying off and clattering to the ground. The mask she wore was knocked askew, revealing the swollen, stunned half of her face.
Honora’s eyes widened in disbelief, and fury ignited within her. “Larissa! What is the meaning of this!” Before she could continue, Larissa’s mocking voice cut through the air. “Why are you shouting? Do you not want the antidote?”
The words were like a bucket of cold water, instantly extinguishing Honora’s rage. She bit her lip, her eyes filled with resentment, but she didn’t dare say another word.
Larissa’s lips curved into a sneer. She blew softly on her slightly reddened palm. “So, tell me again. Who’s the pathetic one now?”
Honora’s jaw remained clamped shut, her venomous glare fixed on Larissa.
“The one who gets slapped and doesn’t make a sound has the nerve to call me pathetic? Is Finley’s attention and love really worth so much?” Larissa finally answered her taunt from earlier. “Honora, if making my own fortune is pathetic, if inheriting the Judson family estate is pathetic, if marrying the most handsome and brilliant man in Regal City is pathetic, then fine, call me pathetic. I suppose I can’t compete with your brand of happiness–getting kicked out of the family, relying on men, and taking a slap to the face without a word.”
Honora’s face was a mask of pure fury, her features twisted in a snarl.
Larissa smiled contemptuously. She casually pulled a small porcelain bottle from her pocket and gave it a little shake, the pills inside rattling softly.

*That slap felt good,” Larissa said, her eyes glinting with ridicule. “So I’ll reward you with this antidote.”
Just as Honora reached out to take it, Larissa flicked her wrist and tossed the bottle onto the ground like a piece of trash.
“You want the cure, don’t you? Pick it up and take it,” Larissa said, crossing her arms and watching Honora with a playful, cruel smile.
