Chapter 329
Honora stopped and turned back, her eyes red as she looked at Finley. “Bro…”
Seeing her on the verge of tears, Finley felt a pang of sympathy. He walked over and gently patted her shoulder.
“Honora, don’t feel guilty. I failed to protect you, and that’s why you were poisoned. It’s only right that I give you the chance to be cured.”
Honora quickly shook her head. “It has nothing to do with you. It’s all Draven’s fault for acting on his own and giving Larissa the chance to hurt me. I’m the one who’s dragged you down. If I hadn’t been poisoned, you would be the one getting the cure…”
Her eyes welled up with tears.
“Don’t say that. Just go find Larissa and get the antidote before she changes her mind,” Finley said, then paused. “And about what I told Larissa, about you leaving the Judson family…”
Honora cut him off. “Finley, I understand. You only said that to convince her to cure me. It was just a temporary tactic. I know you were doing it for my own good.”
“I’m glad you understand,” Finley nodded. “Don’t overthink it. For now, just go to the hospital and be with Leopold. I’ll have my assistant arrange a place for you to stay today.”
Honora’s voice choked with emotion. “Finley, thank you for giving me this chance… If I miss you all, can I come back and visit often?”
Finley shook his head. “Until my poison is cured, it’s better if you don’t come back. If you miss me, I’ll come and see you.”
Honora bit her lip, pretending to be heartbroken. After a moment, she managed a choked, “I understand.”
Finley looked exhausted. “Alright, go get the antidote from Larissa first, then go to the hospital. She’s in the herb garden in the backyard.”
Honora nodded. “Okay.”
Once she was out the door, the thought of having her face restored made her steps feel light and carefree.
In the backyard, she spotted Larissa crouched in the herb garden.
“Hmph. A dirt–kicker from the countryside, that’s all she’ll ever be,” Honora thought with disdain. “Even in a place like this, she can’t help but act like a peasant, planting vegetables in a mansion’s garden.”
She lifted her chin and called out, “Larissa, I’m here for the antidote.”
Larissa didn’t turn around. “Wait.”
Honora suppressed her anger and found a spot to stand outside the fence. She watched Larissa’s busy back with a triumphant gleam in her eyes. Making sure no one was around, and that she was just far enough away that her voice would carry but couldn’t be clearly recorded, she said with a smirk, “Larissa, are you angry right now?”

Larissa’s hand, which was applying a special fertilizer to the seeds she had just planted, paused. She could guess what was coming.
“Oh?” she replied sarcastically. “And what would I be angry about?”
Honora’s smirk widened. “Don’t pretend. You called me specifically so Finley would have to choose between us. You were testing him, weren’t you? But it’s a shame. Even with my face ruined, even when he’s poisoned himself, he still chose me, his adopted sister with no blood ties.”
“Larissa, your life is such a failure. No matter how brilliant you are, no matter how hard you try to drive a wedge between me and our brothers, you’ll never get their attention or their love. It’s pathetic.”
Larissa didn’t respond.
Honora pushed, “What’s wrong?”
