Married at First Sight Chapter 1076

Serenity reflected on her relationship with Zachary. It seemed she rarely needed to coax him. However, after witnessing how easily Josh brightened at Jasmine’s coaxing, she thought, “I’ll buy Zachary a gift when I bring him dinner later. That should make him happy.”

“Jasmine, what are we having for dinner tonight?” Serenity inquired.

Jasmine replied, “Liberty treated us to lunch earlier, so I didn’t buy any groceries. What do you feel like eating? I can get it now.”

“You have dinner plans, and I need to deliver dinner to my husband as well. His stomach isn’t well, but he has a dinner party to attend. I’m worried that if he drinks on an empty stomach, it will only make things worse. You two can chat while I go get some food and come back.”

Jasmine and Elisa nodded in agreement.

Once Serenity left, Elisa remarked enviously, “I envy Seren. It’s not easy for her and Zachary to be a typical couple. Zachary can be arrogant, yet Seren manages to bring out a different side of him.”

“When Mr. York visited us before, he was like a block of ice. The students would get timid whenever he helped us with the register or watched over the store,” Elisa added.

Elisa laughed. “That’s just how he is. He’s still the same; he just shows a different side to Seren. In the future, I want to find a man who will make exceptions for me. I’ll capture his heart and ensure he never slips away.”

“You’re a wonderful person, Elisa. I’m confident you’ll find a man willing to do that for you. Perhaps he’s already in your life, and you just haven’t realized it yet. Make sure to be open when love comes knocking,” Jasmine encouraged.

Elisa replied confidently, “I believe I won’t be any less fortunate than Seren. I can marry a man who loves me too.”

Though she had given up on Zachary, she had not given up on happiness. Instead, she felt rejuvenated, ready to embrace new possibilities.

She sought happiness that was hers alone. Serenity was simply waiting for love to arrive at her doorstep.

Soon, she returned from grocery shopping and headed straight to the kitchen to begin cooking. Her plan was to prepare a heartfelt meal for her darling before rush hour, then quickly return to the store so her best friend could enjoy her date without concern.

In the early days of her relationship with Zachary, Jasmine often spent time alone at the store. Now that her feelings for Zachary had stabilized, it was time to let Jasmine go out with Josh.

“The quickest way to a man’s heart is through his stomach,” Elisa teased as she leaned against the kitchen doorway. “Zachary’s picky palate has been won over by you.”

Serenity smiled and replied, “You’d better learn from me so you can win over a certain man’s heart in the future.”

“I’ll pass. I’m hoping he’ll win over my heart instead.”

“Yep, that’s the Elisa I know.”

Elisa then asked, “Seren, when you two are together, do you take care of him? Are you the one buying groceries and cooking meals?”

“No, it’s mostly Zachary who cooks at home. Nana mentioned that he’s not the best chef, so she encouraged me to let him practice more. That way, I’ll be well-fed as his skills improve.”

Elisa burst into laughter. “Old Mrs. York is truly Zachary’s nana. She’s incredibly wise. She may act like a big child, but she’s very respectable. Much better than my grandma. When my grandma was alive, she constantly nagged my mom and made her life difficult.”

“Everyone in the York family is wonderful.”

Elisa nodded in agreement with Serenity’s sentiment.
