Married at First Sight Chapter 1069

Serenity was well aware of the Brown family’s behavior. She was concerned that the Browns and Hunts would disrupt the opening of her sister’s new store. The last thing anyone wanted on such an important day was trouble.

To mitigate any potential issues, Serenity asked her husband for assistance, requesting that he arrange for people to monitor the area and address any problems promptly. Despite her independent nature and reluctance to rely on him, Serenity took the initiative and reached out to Zachary. He was thrilled, feeling that his wife finally considered him part of the family.

Without hesitation, he agreed to her request. In fact, he would have organized security even without her prompting, as he shared her concerns about the Brown and Hunt families causing chaos.

When Jessica spotted the bodyguards from the Yorks and Duncan families, her anger dissipated immediately. She then noticed that only Serenity, Zachary, and Elisa were inside the store. Elisa had previously ignored her greeting, and Jessica could never forget her haughty, dismissive demeanor, which left her feeling intimidated.

“Is Hank here?” Jessica stammered as she turned to Liberty.

“You can see for yourself, Ms. Yates,” Liberty replied curtly. She was busy preparing eggs benedict for her cousin and only glanced at Jessica before returning to her tasks.

Jessica, suppressing her arrogance, asked softly, “Hank and his mother left early this morning. She mentioned they would come over to congratulate you on your store opening. Where could they be if not here?”

Liberty responded coolly, “He’s your man. If you don’t know where he is, how would I?”

Jessica was taken aback. She glanced at the bodyguards surrounding her, who were vigilant and patrolling, and offered a sheepish smile. “I just came here to look for Hank, not to…”

“Causing trouble. Since my husband isn’t here, I’ll be leaving now.” She quickly turned and ran away. Swiftly, she returned to her car and drove off. In her heart, she felt grateful that her brother had chosen not to cause a scene at Liberty’s shop, as he scorned the money Jessica offered him. Otherwise, who knew what the repercussions might have been? Jessica felt both gratitude and jealousy. Indeed, those with powerful allies were in a different league. Liberty had just opened a breakfast diner, yet numerous flower stands had been sent to her. The senders were likely connected to Mr. York and Mrs. Stone, and many others were watching over the store to protect her! “She ran away quickly,” Serenity remarked with a cold snort. Elisa added, “What a coward. I would have paid her some attention if she had shown the same guts she did when stealing Liberty’s husband.” The two women exchanged discreet looks at Zachary. With such a formidable presence, no one would dare to cause trouble. At a nod from Zachary, the bodyguards moved out. The security guards hired by Duncan to patrol the area also remained silent as they exited. After they left, Serenity said to her partner, “I’m surprised to see guards patrolling the street.” “Half of the stores on this street belong to Mr. Lewis. He’s concerned that tenants like us could face issues, so he hired guards to patrol and ensure our safety,” he replied.
