_NARRATOR_

Cebo walked out of the shower, dripping wet with a towel wrapped around his torso and another towel on his hand, wiping his wet hair. While Sthembile is seated on the bed busy with her phone, she raised her head to look at her husband who has been distant for a couple of days now. “It seems like you going somewhere”, she said bringing her eyes back to her phone.

Cebo stopped her he was doing then looked at her, “our cars are at a service Sthembile”, she just shook her head. She is not used to complaining, she believes if you complain to a man they will continue to do what you complaining about. So in that case she decided to just shush her mouth shut and continue playing a game on her phone.

Cebo never minding his wife, he lotioned then wore his outfit when his phone rang. He looked at the ID caller before answering, “hello”

📱Hey Mr Ndwandwe you talking to doctor  Jordan”, Cebo nodded like Jordan can see him.

📱Uhhm we have your test, do you want me to tell you over the phone or you will come by”, Cebo went quite for a few seconds. “I’ll come over”, he said then disconnected the call. He looked at Sthembile who didn’t even raised her head to show interest.

“You can go Cebolenkosi “, Cebo sighed, and his car and Sthembile’s are at the service. He walked out after taking his necessities, he walked to the main house. Mihlayonke was seated at the lounge, drinking tea and scones, while watching a TV. “Sawubona ma”, Mihla looked at him trn smiled, “Yebo Cebo Kunjani?”.

“Ngyaphila mAh, usumbonile uMaShandu of uNdwandwe?”.

“Musa went out a while ago and your mother, no I didn’t see her since morning “, Cebo sighed while his hands rested on his figure.”do you need something?”, she asked. Cebo nodded slowly, “uhhm can you borrow me your car, I have errands to run and I took mine to a service “. Mihla nodded with a smile, she stood up and went upstairs to fetch the keys, she gave them to Cebo who thanked her and ran outside to the garage.

He got in the car then drove out of the yard, his mind is racing with thoughts. He didn’t know what to do after hearing his mother’s arguement, he had to do something. So he started by taking test, his and Musa and Phiwayinkosi. He reached the traffic light when it turned red, he hit the brakes but they weren’t working, he hit then so hard but still. His heart started to race, he tried to hit them again but it was late since he has passed the traffic lights, his car crash to the other car that was coming to another direction. Both the cars flipped over, causing the other cars to stop, while others were late to stop, and crash to other cars.

While Mihlayonke got a call from Musa, she smiled answering her call. “Ndwandwe”

📱MaCele I’m at a farm and I need your help”, Mihlayonke frowned. “Hau baba kodwa u MaShandu njeh oksiza e farm”.

📱Ngyazi MaCele, kodwa uthe ngeke akhone ubambekile lapho Akhona”. Mihla sighed, thinking she already have Cebo her car. “I already have Cebolenkosi my car njeh Ndwandwe”.

📱Tell Nhlanzeko to drive you MaCele”, then the call disconnected.

Mihlayonke stood up from the couch, she went out to Nhlanzeko’s room. She knocked softly then waited for someone to open. The door opened, revealing Nhlanzeko who smiled upon seeing his mother. “MaCele”

“Kunjani mfanawami, unjan umakoti”, she said. Nhlanzeko smiled warmly, “siyaphila MaCele, ngingamsiza ngani umama?”. Mihla sighed, something doesn’t feel right in her bones and blood and soul. “Your father needs some help in the farm and i already gave Cebo my car, can you take me to the farm?”

“Ayikho inkinga Plus I was already driving out, I’m going to the city”, Mihla frowned,”you going with Kago?”. He shook his head, “I’ll be gone for two days mAh, I’m coming back…go and take your things then we can leave”. Mihla went back to the main house, she took her bag then walked out, Nhlanze was already in the car waiting for his mother. Mihla walked to the car, she got in the front seat then fasten the seatbelt before Nhlanzeko drove off.

_STHEMBILE NDWANDWE _

Cebo has been distant for days now, I don’t know why, maybe he is cheating. But ever since we started dating and got married I had never found out. I won’t say he hasn’t cheated on me, maybe he knows how to play his cards well. I sighed as I walked out of the room, at the same with Kago. We greeted to each other then we both walked to the main house.

It too quiet for my liking, no noise, no people roaming other than the Gaurds. “Where’s everyone?”, Kago asked, I shrugged my shoulders. She sighed, “I’m so hungry”, “me too”. We looked at each other then busted In laughter. We walked to the kitchen, “sandwich?”, she asked looking at me, I nodded. “Make some and I’ll make some juice for us”, she nodded taking out the ingredients she will need to make the sandwich.

After 5 minutes or so we were done, we took our plates and glasses of juice then walked to the lounge. We sat down, she opened Netflix on the TV. We ate in silence, with the sound of the movie that is playing. My phone broke the silence, I took it then looked at the ID caller, it an unknown number. I answered holding my breath, “Sthembile Ndwandwe speaking hello”.

📱Hello Mrs Ndwandwe you talking to Mercy from ****hospital, your husband Cebolenkosi Ndwandwe was involved in an car accident……”

I didn’t hear what she said because already the phone was down, my tears were already a water fall. I hear someone calling my name, but it was distant. Someone held me, I looked at her, it Kago. “Sthembile what wrong?”, I swallowed as tears continue to fall down my cheeks. Kago picked up my phone on the floor, then put it on her ear. “Hello”

📱….

“She is not in the right state at the moment but I can take the message ”

📱….

“Okay thank you very much Mercy, we will be there”, she disconnected the call then looked at me. “Come on Sthembile we have to go to the hospital”. I shook my head already negative things are flowing in my mind, what really happened.
