_NARRATOR_

Nhlanzeko watched Kagoentle as she is fast asleep, he couldn’t stop thinking about what MaShandu is doing to her. Such a beautiful soul, pretty face, who could actually hate someone like her? He asked himself that kind of a question, MaShandu never like him for her own reasons, he now knows she won’t like his wife either.

He sighed heavily, running his fingers on her face. He is asking himself, why would his father not say anything about this? Kago shifted as she feels his fingers on her face, she opened her eyes half looking at Nhlanzeko. Because Nhlanzeko’s mind wasn’t there, he couldn’t see she is awake even though he is looking at her. “Nhlanzeko”, she called him softly, Nhlanzeko snapped from his thoughts.

“Ohhh you awake?”, she sat up straight, still looking at him. She brushed the sleep off her eyes, “you don’t have to fight your mother because of me you know that right?”. Nhlanzeko shook his head slowly, “I will fight for you even if I have to fight my own mother”. Kago smiled hearing him say that, “MaCele is a sweet soul, sometime I ask myself how come she ended up in a polygamous marriage”, she chuckled softly after saying that.

“My father loved MaCele but he was forced to take MaShandu first before his lover”, Kago looked at Nhlanzeko, “and that led MaShandu to hate her and us”, he added. “Wake up so we can pack your clothes”, Kago looked at him shocked this time, “where we going?”. “You going to share a room with me mama ngaphandle”, what she was scared about is actually happening, sharing a room with him.

While at the kitchen the wife’s are on each other’s neck. “You took my love, married him first but you didn’t ended there Lumnene you even gave him two children”, Lumnene laughed looking at her, “it wasn’t my fault that you cold in the bedroom Mihlayonke, it wasn’t my fault that Musa saw me fit to be his first wife other than you”. Mihla scoffed, “Ohhh look who is talking, my family didn’t force Musa to marry me, he married me because he loved me and what about you?”

That made Lumnene anger to rise, she looked at Mihla with rage, she wished she could choke her to death, she wished some day she will wake up dead, “and you think your secrets are safe? I know everything happening in this house, you can make Musa a fool but not me Lumnene not me Sisi. Try me or my children or their wife’s, I swear to my parent’s graves, you won’t see what will come in your way nx”, Mihla said then turned to walk away but Lumnene’s hand was fast to hold her.

“What do you mean my secrets?”, fear couldn’t be missed in her tone. Mihla chuckled softly then shook her head, “you the one who knows your secrets Lumnene ngithi try me Wena, try me ngzokbonisa amadolo enyoka nx”, she yanked her hand from Lumnene’s grip then walked upstairs. Cebo who was standing at the lounge door, heard everything they were talking about, he asked himself what secrets does her mother have? That made her to be nervous, MaShandu is known as the ‘woman who isn’t shaken by anything’, now what kind of secrets that make her to shake on her boots?

Nhlanzeko walked downstairs with Kago following behind him, while both of them holding her suitcases. MaShandu was still standing at the kitchen, thinking about what she have to do, since Mihla knows her secrets, she has always wanted to kill her, but what really stopped her from doing that? She also doesn’t know, but now her mind has been made, Mihlayonke has to leave, she got scared when she has footsteps approaching the kitchen. She raised her head to see Nhlanzeko and Kago walking out.

_NHLANZEKO NDWANDWE_

We put her laugage in my room, she looked at me before sitting down. “Uhhm can I ask something?”, I nodded, putting my hands in my pocket looking at her. “I want to go to town, I need to redo my hair”. I nodded slowly, “okay I will take you”, but she stopped me, “there’s no need of that, I will also meet with my friends so I don’t want to keep you waiting”. I nodded softly, “okay, before you leave send me your banking details”, she looked at me shocked, “ayiboh mama ungangitsheli ukuthi ubuyosebenzisa eyakho imali indoda inayo, ayii cha ngizabe ngiyindoda enjani impela hau”.

She nodded slowly, “ngisayokhuluma no Ndwandwe, I’ll be waiting for your banking details”, she nodded again. I walked out then walked to the main house. I know my father must be in his study, I don’t know what MaShandu gave hime, but trust it working in mysterious ways. I chuckled as I walked to his study, I knocked at the door. He told me to come in, I opened the door then walked in.

“Baba”, he looked at me, it seems like he is kinda busy with some papers, “Ndwandwe, hlala phansi ndodana”. I sat down, opposite him, “ubukeka umatasa”, he sighed then sat comfortable in his chair. “I’m avoiding the drama in this house, MaShandu is on my nerves manjeh Zwide ayii ngeke ngikhathele phela manjeh”. Yha he really seems tired, poor man but he has to man up to his wife’s. “I’m here to talk about her baba, I won’t allow her to make my wife a servant yalana ekhaya, Kago umkami baba not someone who was hired to clean and cook for us”.

He brushed his face looking at me, “ngyakuzwa ndodana, I’ll talk to her”, I nodded. That what I wanted, my father to step up an be the man of the house. “That what I wanted Ndwandwe, or I’ll be forced to go to my house with my wife before Christmas”, he looked at me, not shocked obviously. “I won’t blame you, MaShandu is like a weapon formed against me, I’m still asking myself why didn’t I fought my parents when they told me to marry her”, I shrugged my shoulders, “the same way me and Cebo couldn’t fight you”. He looked at me shocked, I stood up then walked out.

I walked back to my room, I heard shower running I guess she is taking a bath. I layed on top of the bed, I’m sleepy right now, as I’m about to close my eyes to let sleep take over, my phone rings. I looked at the ID caller, it my PA, I answered it then put in on loud speaker. “Hello”

📱 Morning Mr Ndwandwe”

“Yha Sizakele”, Kago walked out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around her body. She looked at me as I’m talking to the phone.

📱Mr Ndwandwe we have a problem, Mr Smith came by and said he want to talk to you otherwise he is taking his business else where”.

White people and thinking that we live by them, “let him do as he pleases Sizakele, anything else?”

📱Mr Ndwandwe, Mr Smith is your biggest investor we can’t let him walk away just like that”

“Sizakele awuyeke amabhunu and tell me something important “, she sighed and I heard Kago chuckling.

“I had a meeting with Mr Khuzwayo sir and he want a meeting with you, so I scheduled it for tomorrow afternoon”, I sighed, “okay send me the details, I’ll be there tomorrow morning and set a meeting with Smith”

📱Okay sir “, I disconnected the call.
