Larissa met Trudy’s promise with a cold, hollow laugh.
To Trudy, the sound was like an arctic wind slicing through the dead of night, and she couldn’t stop a violent shiver from wracking her body.
“Let you go?” Larissa’s voice was merciless, each word dripping with ice. “After pulling the same stunts your mother did? You can forget about walking away from this unscathed.”
Trudy’s eyes widened in disbelief.
“Ms. Judson, you’re going back on your word!” she shrieked, her voice a cocktail of desperation and fury.
A mocking smile played on Larissa’s lips. “You’re a despicable criminal, Trudy. You can’t possibly still believe in things like keeping promises, can you? Besides, all I said was that I’d consider letting you
deserve to live every day in a state worse than death.”
The color drained from Trudy’s face as the futility of her pleas crashed down on her. Larissa never had any intention of letting her go.
“Larissa! Don’t you push your luck!” Trudy finally snapped, the mask of desperation shattering to reveal a face twisted with pure, ugly rage.
“I’m warning you, if you touch me, you’re signing your own death warrant! I work for Lucius Lincoln, and he’s a ruthless man. When he finds out you kidnapped me, he’ll hunt you down and tear you to pieces!”
Faced with Trudy’s sudden, venomous threats, Larissa remained unnervingly calm. She just kept driving, ignoring the torrent of curses erupting from the bound woman in the back seat as if she were nothing more than a buzzing fly. She didn’t even bother to waste a single word in response.
The car sped through the city, finally pulling to a stop in a secluded, derelict alley.
Nightveil was already there, waiting in the shadows.
The moment she saw Larissa, she stepped forward, her head bowed respectfully. “Boss.”
“Take this vicious witch,” Larissa ordered coolly. “Break her arms and legs. Just keep her breathing. I still need her to test some of my new formulas.”
Nightveil nodded. “Understood, Boss.”
A new wave of terror washed over Trudy as she realized what was about to happen. The curses died in her throat, replaced by trembling pleas.
“Ms. Judson, please, spare me! I know I was wrong! I’ll never prey on innocent young women again, I swear…”

Chapter 581
Larissa was unmoved. As Nightveil dragged Trudy from the car, she said coldly, “Save it. Tell that to the girls you trafficked and see if they’ll forgive you”
Nightveil hauled Trudy deeper into the alley, her pleas and screams echoing off the grimy brick walls before being abruptly cut short.
There was a sickening “crack“, followed by a piercing shriek from Trudy. Two of her front teeth clattered to the pavement as blood sprayed from her mouth, mingling with the curses she was trying to form.
Nightveil retracted her fist. “One more word, and I’ll pull out the rest.”
Her gaze was as sharp as a blade, and Trudy finched away, the fury in her eyes once again dissolving into raw fear.
“No, please! Ms. Judson, I’ll be your slave, I’ll do anything you want for the rest of my life…”
But her words fell on deaf ears. Nightveil was already dragging her away by the hair, her pleas fading into the darkness.
Larissa turned and got back in her car.
Go to hell? She chuckled softly. She much preferred sending villains there herself.
Later that night, at the exclusive Neverending Night club.
Lucius’s assistant took a call from Honora, then leaned in close to his boss. “Mr. Lincoln, Honora just called. She said Trudy’s gone missing. No one can reach her.”
Lucius, swirling a glass of red wine, paused. “Bring Honora to me.”
“Yes, sir.”
