The Throne of Thorns Novel Chapter 546

Wings of Broken Time by Alina Das 546

“My dear,” Kiernan said, his voice thick with emotion. “Seeing all of you here to welcome me today truly warms my heart.”

“Dad, I’m not—” Neville began to protest, but Sapphira gently tugged on his sleeve, shaking her head to silence him. Vivica was right; Kiernan’s health was poor, and she didn’t want to risk upsetting him.

For his wife’s sake, Neville held his tongue.

“Alright, let’s head home,” Kiernan said, rubbing his temples. “This old body of mine can’t handle much anymore. The flight left my head spinning, but I couldn’t sleep. Larissa, my dear, I’ll need you to give me some acupuncture in the car to help me relax.”

“Of course, Grandpa,” Larissa replied.

After leaving the airport and seeing Kiernan safely into Neville’s seven–seater van, Leopold turned to his parents with a grave expression. “Grandpa came back specifically to cure Finley’s poison. So tonight, I need you both to promise me you won’t do anything to anger Larissa. This might be Finley’s last chance.”

“Leopold, what are you saying?” Vivica quickly replied. “Do you really think your father and I can’t tell what’s important?”

She then turned to her older son. “Finley, don’t worry. I absolutely will not do anything to upset your grandfather or your sister tonight.”

Finley nodded. “Okay.”

“Let’s go,” Vivica said eagerly. “We should get back to the estate. Maybe if your grandfather is in a good mood tonight, he’ll let us move back into the west wing villa.”

To make it easier for Larissa to perform the acupuncture, Neville and Sapphira took the back row of seats, leaving the middle row for Larissa and Kiernan.

Once they were settled in the car, Larissa took out her needle kit. “Grandpa, let me start with the treatment to help you relax.”

“Good girl,” Kiernan said, closing his eyes.

Larissa selected a fine silver needle and inserted it into a pressure point on the side of his head, just behind his temple. Soon, Kiernan felt the dizzying pressure begin to fade.

He then began to ask about the company. “Larissa, how has it been managing Starlight Media? What are your plans for the future?”

Larissa smiled. “Everything is progressing smoothly. If all goes well, my next big goal is to acquire Gale Entertainment. I’m already working on a plan for it.”

Kiernan was taken aback. “Acquire Gale Entertainment? Are you serious? Gale is one of Regal City’s legacy entertainment companies. Even though its market share has shrunk in recent years, its position is still formidable. That’s not a company you can just swallow overnight.”

“Grandpa, you handed the Judson family enterprises to me to make our family stronger and more. powerful, didn’t you?” Larissa countered. “Why are you so surprised that I’m aiming to acquire Gale? If I don’t have that kind of ambition, how can I possibly achieve that goal?”

Kiernan was at a loss for words. After a moment, he said sheepishly, “…You’re right. How can you grow if you’re afraid to dream big? I’m getting old, losing my nerve for these kinds of risks. The future of the Judson family depends on young people like you to keep pushing forward.”

“Grandpa,” Larissa said pointedly, “since you’ve entrusted the family business to me, you should focus on your health and rest. There are some matters you should try to stay out of.”

Kiernan understood the implication in her tone. He let out a soft sigh. “Larissa, I know you must still be upset that I allowed Paxton and his family to come to the estate for dinner.”
