Wings of Broken Time by Alina Das 515
As a man of experience, Zoltan had been observing Larissa for the past month. He had come to the conclusion that she was no ordinary young woman.
Based on the Al–generated deepfake video of Lucius and his uncle alone, Zoltan was convinced that Larissa either possessed a hidden power of her own or was backed by a formidable, mysterious figure.
That was why he treated her, a junior, with such respect. For him, entrusting the future of the Palmer family to a capable grandson like Haskell was already a good outcome. If they could also gain the support of Larissa and her mysterious connections, the Palmer family’s position as the top powerhouse in Regal City would be secure for generations to come.
Furthermore, with his grandson and his future granddaughter–in–law working together, it was even possible that the Lincoln family could finally be brought down.
Ignoring Faith’s resentful glare, Larissa replied, “Regarding what Faith and Solomon did to Haskell, I’d like to know how you plan to punish them, Grandpa Zoltan. Or, if you can’t bring yourself to be harsh with your own grandchildren, then perhaps you could compensate Haskell in a more tangible way.”
Finley had seen this play before. It was just like when Leopold had tampered with the brakes on Larissa’s car, and she had used the opportunity to seize control of Starlight Media.
Was she planning to do the same thing again?
“For instance?” Zoltan asked.
“For instance, give Haskell 10% of the Palmer Group’s shares,” Larissa stated bluntly.
“Grandpa, no!” Faith was the first to object.
Larissa raised an eyebrow. “Since Faith finds that unacceptable, I have another proposal. How about you put Haskell in charge of the rare earth mineral operations in Africa?”
The suggestion that Larissa was meddling in their family’s business ventures sent Faith into a rage. She shot to her feet. “Larissa, don’t push your luck! What gives you the right to dictate how we run the Palmer family’s businesses?”
She turned to her grandfather. “Grandpa, you’re not actually considering Larissa’s ridiculous demands, are you? My father built that African operation from the ground up! He almost lost his life to a rival’s retaliation!”
“Then what do you suggest?” Zoltan’s voice was stern. “Do you not want the antidote?”
“Grandpa, there are simpler, more direct ways to make Larissa give me the antidote,” Faith pleaded. “Why do you need to ask her? Just threaten her! Tell her if she doesn’t give me the cure, you’ll bankrupt the Judson family! With our power in Regal City.d

Judson family wouldn’t be impossible, would it?”
Larissa clicked her tongue. “Faith, you talk a big game, casually threatening to bankrupt my family. Do you have any idea how business rivalries actually work? Do you think bankrupting a second–tier family like the Judsons is as simple as snapping your fingers?

“I’m guessing you don’t, since your father Tobias and your brother Solomon probably keep you far away from the African operations.”
“Even the Lincoln family has to go to great lengths to take down Starlight Media–acquiring smaller companies, investing in established ones like Gale Entertainment, and spending a fortune to cut off our resources. What makes you think Grandpa Zoltan would expend that much effort on your behalf just for an antidote?”
“Why?” Faith retorted. “Because I’m his granddaughter, that’s why!”
