The Throne of Thorns Novel Chapter 494

Wings of Broken Time by Alina Das 494

Chapter 494

“Haha, a wise man indeed,” Damon said, satisfied. With Benedict on board, Gale Entertainment’s new series–designed specifically to crush Starlight Media–was a sure thing.

As for Starlight Media, many of the talents Finley had cultivated had already jumped ship to Gale Entertainment. Damon couldn’t imagine how Larissa could possibly win. If “Heaven’s Will” still managed to become a hit, he would resign on the spot.

At three in the afternoon, a sleek van pulled up in front of the Starlight Media building. Two young men in matching hoodies got out from the front seats. They were followed by three people from the back: a middle–aged couple and a young woman with a cherubic, baby face who looked barely out of her teens.

The group of five looked up at the “Starlight Media” sign and walked inside.

Ursa immediately rose from her desk. “Hello, may I help you?”

The baby–faced woman smiled politely. “Hi there! We’re looking for Ms. Judson. We heard she needed some help around here.”

It clicked for Ursa. “You’re the temporary help Ms. Judson hired?”

“That’s us!” the woman chirped.

Ursa looked her up and down skeptically. “Honey, are you even old enough to work?”

The young woman planted her hands on her hips, feigning indignation. “Of course I am! I’m twenty–five, even older than Ms. Judson!”

“Twenty–five?!”

Ursa and the other employees stared in disbelief. She looked sixteen, at most.

The middle–aged woman smiled kindly. “She’s telling the truth. She is twenty–five. Could you please let Ms. Judson know we’re here?”

Snapping out of her shock, Ursa said, “Right. Please wait here. I’ll go get her.”

After Ursa left, another employee leaned over and whispered to the baby–faced woman, “So… which company did you guys transfer from?”

The woman waved a dismissive hand. “Oh, just a small, insignificant organization.”

Only the largest and most powerful underground alliance in the world. As the five most junior members, a little humility was in order.

“Indeed. A very small, insignificant organization.”

The group turned in unison towards the source of the sound. Larissa was strolling towards them, a knowing smile on her face.

“Chief!” the five of them exclaimed, their demeanor instantly respectful.

Chief?! What in the world was their new CEO’s real identity? Why were these people of all different ages calling her “Chief“?

Larissa approached them. “Nightveil filled you in on the job, I assume?”

The baby–faced woman nodded, her round eyes sparkling. “She did. Leave it to us, Chief. We’ll make sure your “Heaven’s Will becomes the biggest hit series of the last two decades!”

The employees‘ jaws dropped even further. This woman had some nerve! The biggest hit of the last two decades? Even the great Benedict wouldn’t dare make such a bold claim.

“Good. I apologize for having you slum it here for a while, Larissa said with a smile.

The employees were left scratching their heads in confusion.

Slum it?! So working here was beneath them? Who in the world were these people? Or was one of them just full of hot air, and the other gullible enough to believe it?
