Wings of Broken Time by Alina Das 490
Chapter 490
This Benedict was a director Finley had spent months courting. Ursa was intensely curious to see who Ms. Judson could possibly get to replace him.
After Ursa left, Larissa dialed a number. After a few rings, an excited man’s voice answered,
“Larissa! You’ve been setting Regal City on fire, and this is the first I’m hearing from you!” “I didn’t want to disturb your recovery.”
“Recovery, my ass! Any more recovering and I’m going to start growing mushrooms!”
“Well then, how would you like to come out of retirement and direct a series for me?”
“I’ve been following the news. I knew you were going to adapt ‘Heaven’s Will‘ yourself. I was just wondering which director you were going to pick instead of me! Hmph. Good thing you didn’t give me a heart attack, kid.”
“I wouldn’t dare upset you. That’s why you were my first call.”
“Fine. I’ll be there in a couple of days.”
“Perfect.”
Hanging up, Larissa leaned back in her chair and stretched lazily.
Director, secured. It was almost too easy.
She rolled her chair back to the desk and began adapting “Heaven’s Will” into a screenplay.
Around noon, people were getting ready for lunch.
“Hello, I’m Haskell Palmer, CEO of the Palmer Group. I’m here to see Larissa Judson.”
Ursa, who was tidying her desk, shot up from her seat. “Mr. Palmer! Please, wait one moment. I’ll inform Ms. Judson right away!”
She hurried to the CEO’s office, knocked, and entered after getting Larissa’s permission. “Ms. Judson,” she said, her eyes shining, “Mr. Palmer is here to see you!”
Larissa was surprised. She hadn’t expected Haskell to visit her at Starlight Media.
“Show him in.”
“Right away!”
Ursa scurried back out and, trying to contain her excitement, said to Haskell, “Ms. Judson will see you now. This way, please, Mr. Palmer.”
“Thank you,” Haskell replied with a slight nod.
Crispin pushed the wheelchair, following close behind.
After Haskell passed, the female employees who had been pretending to work all rose from their

desks, craning their necks to catch a glimpse of his retreating figure.
“Oh my god! I can’t believe I’m seeing the legendary Haskell Palmer in person! The golden boy of Regal City’s most powerful family!”
The women of Starlight Media were practically swooning.
“How can one person be so handsome? He’s even more stunning in person than he was on that livestream!”
“And he’s so polite! Not arrogant at all, like you’d expect from someone like him!”
“I know… it’s just such a shame about his legs.”
“Who cares! With a face like that, I could stare at him all day and never get tired of it!”
Ursa led Haskell and Crispin to the office door. “Mr. Palmer, right this way”
“Thank you.”
After Crispin wheeled Haskell inside, he quietly exited to wait outside.
Larissa rose from her desk. “Haskell, what are you doing here today?”
Haskell smiled warmly. “You’ve been the one coming to my office for my treatments. I finished up early at the company today, so I thought I’d come to you for a change.”
His eyes drank in her appearance, appreciating her new outfit.
“How thoughtful of you,” Larissa teased.
“Less thoughtful, more selfish,” Haskell admitted. “I missed you. I wanted to see you sooner and spend more time with you.” He paused. “And it seems I was right to come. You look even more beautiful today.”
