The Throne of Thorns Novel Chapter 475

Wings of Broken Time by Alina Das 475

When Avril received Torrin’s text, she nearly choked.

What on earth?! This guy was something else. But… he kind of had a point. For a woman

as incredible as Larissa to belong to just one man did seem like a bit of a waste.

“No, I can’t let Haskell hear me thinking that, or he’ll kill me,” she thought, suppressing a giggle.

After she had her laugh, she typed back a reply

[NO. I’m a one–man woman. As long as Haskell is true to me, I will only ever love him.]

Torrin read the message and shoved his phone back in his pocket, his heart sinking with disappointment. It was clear Larissa still thought he wasn’t good enough. If he could become more powerful than Haskell, the most sought–after heir in Regal City, then she would come back to him.

That settled it. He needed to reinvent himself.

He decided he wouldn’t bother Larissa for a while. In the two months leading up to her wedding, he would transform himself into someone she couldn’t ignore. He would win her back!

After lunch, Larissa parted ways with Haskell and drove back to the Judson estate. As she pulled up, she was surprised to see the main gate adorned with festive decorations. Stepping inside her villa, she was about to ask her mother what was going on when she was met with a chorus of excited voices from her grandparents and five uncles.

“We watched the whole livestream of the copyright meeting today! Our Larissa is absolutely brilliant!” Stanley declared.

Levi’s voice was thick with emotion. “I’m a huge fan of Field of Lari! I’ve read all four of her novels. The political intrigue is masterfully written, and the romance is so delicate and moving it brought me, a grown man, to tears. I need to get her autograph later!”

“I want a photo with her!” Vaughn added with a grin.

“Me too! And an autograph!” Tavish echoed.

Larissa couldn’t help but smile. Her uncles‘ enthusiasm was infectious.

Just then, Rafe looked over and announced, “Larissa’s back.”

In an instant, all five of her uncles were on their feet, striding toward her. They were older men, but each carried himself with a distinct and impressive aura. They must have been real heartbreakers in their youth.

“Larissa,” Levi said, his eyes filled with admiration, “we saw the broadcast today. You’re amazing! To think you’re the famous author, Field of Lari!”

Stanley chuckled, clearly satisfied. “And you certainly put Lucius Lincoln in his place! He offered 600 million, only to find out he’d been played the whole time!”

“But Larissa,” Rafe asked, his expression serious, “where did you get that kind of money?”

“I earned it selling rare medicinal herbs,” she answered honestly.

“Rare herbs?” Vaughn’s eyes widened. “You mean all those priceless herbs that have been sold at Regal City’s biggest auction house over the past few years… they were yours?”

Larissa nodded. “Yes.”

“That explains it!” the uncles said in unison. They knew those herbs had recently fetched prices as high as 100 million dollars apiece. Over the years, Larissa must have earned at least two billion.

“With a child like Larissa, the Judson family is truly on its way to becoming a top–tier powerhouse,” Gloria remarked to Neville.

“No wonder Kiernan was willing to kick Paxton’s family out for her! The old man knows a diamond when he sees one,” said Ziggy Turner Larissa’s maternal grandfather. He sighed. “It’s a shame he’s gotten so old and frail. If he had still been in charge of Judson Pharmaceuticals instead of leaving it to Paxton and Finley, the family wouldn’t have declined so much in recent years.”
