The Throne of Thorns Novel Chapter 430

Wings of Broken Time by Alina Das 430

Chapter 430

Neville, however, wasn’t surprised. “They were never going to give up and leave us quietly. They’ll try anything to get back in Larissa’s good graces and return.”

Sapphira had known Larissa long enough to know she wouldn’t fall for it. Her main concer now was Leopold’s more extreme fans causing trouble. Many of them were minors, and she didn’t want 001 to have to resort to heavy–handed tactics.

“I was going to terminate his contract with Starlight Media and be done with him for good,” Larissa said dismissively. “But now, I think I’ll just shelve him indefinitely. In today’s entertainment world, fans move on to a new idol every six months. It won’t be long before Leopold fades into obscurity.”

Sapphira nodded. “Just be careful.”

After breakfast, Larissa got in her car and drove toward the main gate of the estate. Suddenly, a figure darted out from the side of the road, blocking her path.

Larissa slammed on the brakes.

It was Leopold.

The arrogant young man she had first met was gone, replaced by a disheveled figure with a demoralized look on his face, stubble shadowing his jaw. He was holding a paper bag, his eyes a mixture of anxiety and desperate hope.

“Larissa, good morning.” His voice was hoarse, as if he hadn’t slept at all.

In fact, he hadn’t. After taking Finley to the hospital and calling his mother, he had driven straight back to the Judson estate and waited all night, just for a chance to see her.

“I brought you breakfast…”

“I’ve already eaten,” Larissa said with a contemptuous laugh. “And who would want your cheap breakfast anyway? Is this pathetic gesture what you call ‘making it up to me‘? It’s just as nauseating as that self–pitying post you put on Twitter.”

His hand holding the bag trembled.

“Larissa, Finley’s poison acted up last night,” Leopold pleaded, his voice cracking. “The pain was unbearable. I’m afraid he won’t survive another episode, that he’ll… he’ll kill himself. Please, for the sake of the fact that he’s your brother, can you give him the antidote?”

“No,” Larissa said without a moment’s hesitation. “I gave him his chance. He chose to give it

to Honora.”

“Now move. Or did you enjoy our last car accident so much you’re hoping for a repeat?”

Leopold had expected this answer. He had one last card to play.

“Larissa, you’re right. I did a terrible thing to you. The fact that you didn’t kill me in that crash was a mercy. So if you’re still not satisfied, take it out on me. I’ll take his pain. Poison me, and cure him. Please.

His voice was a desperate plea. “Finley has suffered enough. He’s already lost the use of one leg. I can’t bear to see him go through that agony again.”

Larissa narrowed her eyes. “Such touching brotherly love,” she mocked. “It almost makes me look like the cold–hearted one.”

“No, that’s not it!” Leopold said quickly. “You’re not cold–hearted, Larissa. We brought all of this on ourselves!”

“You know,” Larissa mused with a cold smile, “you are worse than Finley. Tampering with someone’s brakes… a normal person would have been killed. Compared to him, you got off easy. If I hadn’t needed you awake to see Honora for who she really is, I never would have let you recover.”

A flicker of hope ignited in Leopold’s eyes. “Does that mean you’ll…”

“No,” Larissa cut him off flatly.
