Wings of Broken Time by Alina Das 411
Chapter 411
In a dark, secret room in Africa, Solomon listened to Haskell’s pointed question and knew with absolute certainty that his sister had been taken by him.
When he spoke again, his voice was laced with ice. “I don’t know where Draven is either. Wasn’t he taken to be taught a lesson the other day? For all we know, those thugs accidentally killed him and dumped his body in some unmarked grave. After what he did to you, Haskell, why do you even care? Wouldn’t it be better if he were dead?”
Haskell let out a soft sigh, his tone deceptively helpless. “Regardless, he is my brother. Even if he’s dead, I need to find his body.”
“What a load of crap,” Solomon thought, seething. He knew Haskell had Faith, but he couldn’t say it outright.
“Well then, if I hear anything about Draven, I’ll be sure to let you know. And I’d appreciate it if you’d do the same if you find any trace of my sister.”
“Of course.”
Solomon hung up and immediately kicked the table in front of him, sending it crashing to the floor.
Frustration churned in his gut. It was infuriating.
“Damn it! I can’t believe that cripple pulled a move like this!” His entire plan, which hinged on Haskell coming to Africa for Draven, was now in ruins.
His subordinates dropped to their knees, trembling.
Talon, Solomon’s most trusted advisor, cautiously watched his boss’s face. “Sir, what do we do now? Do we release him?”
Solomon clenched his fists and glared at Draven, who was lying in the corner like a half–dead dog. “What other choice do I have? Are you going to rescue my sister from Haskell for me?”
Talon fell silent.
With nowhere else to direct his rage, Solomon strode over to Draven and kicked him viciously. “Useless piece of trash! You wasted so much of
my time!”
Draven curled into a ball on the floor, groaning in pain. He was filled with regret. Why hadn’t he been content with his comfortable life in the Palmer family? Why had he chased after power that was never meant for him?
Did he really think the position of heir was so easy to seize? Even if he had managed to eliminate Haskell, how could he have possibly dealt with the rest of the Palmer clan? He had been so naive. If he managed to get out of this alive, he would do everything in his

power to earn Haskell’s forgiveness and return to his life of luxury.
After venting his anger, Solomon returned to his chair and gave a cold command. “Talon, send this waste of space back to the country tomorrow.”
“Sir,” Talon began, stepping forward with a box of fine cigars, “I might have an idea. One that ensures Draven isn’t a complete waste and gets your sister back.”
“What is it?” Solomon took a cigar and placed it between his lips, his brow furrowed.
Talon lit it for him. “Have you been following the news from back home, Sir?”
“Get to the point,” Solomon snapped.
“Jagger Lincoln has been arrested,” Talon said quickly. “Someone leaked that the Lincoln family was using slave labor in their mines in Myanmar. The family cut him loose to save themselves, pinning all the blame on him. His own mother, Helena, personally handed him over to the authorities.”
Solomon sneered. “It was Haskell’s doing. No one else would dare to cross the Lincolns like that. But to make an enemy of them at a time like this… Haskell must have a death wish.”
Even as he called Haskell a fool, a flicker of resentment ignited within him. Haskell knew that he and Fraser Palmer were vying for the heir’s position, yet he still dared to provoke the Lincoln family. It was a clear sign of how little he thought of them.
“And?” Solomon prompted.
