The Throne of Thorns Novel Chapter 396

Wings of Broken Time by Alina Das 396

Chapter 396

“No!” Torrin cut her off.

“That’s how I got into this mess in the first place–trying to make Larissa jealous with other women. I’m not making that mistake again.”

“I’m not telling you to use her to provoke Larissa,” Sharon clarified. “I’m telling you to actually try dating someone else. Maybe then you’ll figure out you’re not so fixated on Larissa.”

Annoyed, Torrin closed his eyes and refused to say another word.

Sharon sighed, giving up on her stubborn brother for the time being.

Avril had just gotten into her car when her phone rang. It was Haskell. She answered immediately.

“Avril, what happened?” Haskell’s calm voice came through the line. “I just saw your message. I was about to have a friend nearby head over…”

“It’s fine now,” Avril said, quickly recounting the events at the bar. Afraid he might be upset, she hastily added, “And don’t worry, Haskell, I didn’t tell Larissa about Torrin fighting for her!”

“It would have been fine if you had,” Haskell replied softly. “I’m just sorry you got dragged into this.”

“Don’t be. I did it willingly,” Avril insisted. “But Haskell, if we don’t deal with Jagger, he’s going to be a constant threat to Larissa…”

“I know. Leave Jagger to me.”

“Okay!”

Avril hung up, a wave of relief washing over her. With Haskell on the case, it was settled. Jagger was finished.

The following afternoon, Larissa was driving back into Regal City. She had intended to go straight to Palmer Group for Haskell’s treatment, but a call from her mother changed her plans.

“Larissa, when you get back to the city, go home first. Your grandfather has something important to discuss with you. I suspect it’s about the company shares.”

“Alright.”

Larissa turned the wheel, changing course for the Judson estate. She parked in the garage and walked through the courtyard toward Kiernan’s residence in the rear of the property.

Jett was waiting for her at the door. “Miss,” he said with a smile. “The master is waiting for you in his study.”

“Thank you.” Larissa followed him to the study and pushed open the door.

Inside, her grandfather was seated behind his desk, accompanied by a middle–aged lawyer in a sharp suit.

“Larissa, you’re here,” Kiernan said, his face breaking into a warm smile. He gestured for her to sit.

“The lawyer has drawn up the share transfer agreement. All you need to do is sign, and it will be official.”

He pushed a file across the desk toward her.

Larissa reviewed the document carefully. Seeing no issues, she signed her name.

Once the legal matters were concluded, Kiernan asked, “Was what happened to Jagger your doing?”

“What?” Larissa looked at him, confused.

Seeing her reaction, Kiernan realized she hadn’t seen the news. “Check the top stories on Twitter.”
