The Throne of Thorns Novel Chapter 390

Wings of Broken Time by Alina Das 390

“Buzz, buzz”

Avril’s phone vibrated on the table, the screen lighting up. The friend sitting next to her saw the contact name–The Idiot Admirer–and burst out laughing.

“Oh, Avril, another one chasing after you?”

Avril picked up her phone, waving a dismissive hand. “He’s not after me.”

“Then why the nickname?”

Without explaining, Avril opened the message from Torrin.

Torrin Dillon: [Larissa, want some late–night snacks? I had a KFC delivery for a couple, but they were in the middle of a huge fight and told me to keep it. I can bring it to you.]

Avril rolled her eyes. What a loser. He couldn’t even offer a proper snack; it had to be someone else’s leftovers.

An idea sparked in her mind. This party was full of second–rate heirs from Regal City’s lesser. families. Having Torrin, the disgraced heir, show up in a delivery uniform would surely be a source of

amusement.

And since these people were looking down on Larissa, Torrin would undoubtedly hear them and rush to her defense. Let the dogs fight. She could sit back and enjoy the show.

She typed back a reply.

[Bring it to Subzero, Booth 101.]

[Okay! I’m nearby. I’ll be right there!]

Just as Avril put her phone down, a shadow fell over her.

“You little Palmer brat,” a voice snarled. “Did I hear you say my Lincoln family would be in for a bad time if we kept messing with that little bitch Larissa?”

Avril looked up.

It was Jagger Lincoln, the same man who had stormed the Judson estate earlier that day. He had a scantily clad woman on his arm and a cigar clenched between his teeth, his eyes fixed on her with cold fury.

Avril didn’t flinch. “That’s right. You were at the Judson estate today, weren’t you, Jagger? You saw what happened to Paxton and his family. Are you sure you still want an apology from Larissa?”

Jagger spat the cigar onto her lap. “Don’t think I won’t touch you just because you’re a Palmer! Anyone who defends that bitch is an enemy of mine!”

“I was already pissed off that I didn’t get to teach her a lesson today,” he growled, pushing the woman away. “You just happened to walk right into the line of fire. Bad luck for you.”

He raised his hand to slap her, but his wrist was suddenly caught in an iron grip.

Avril stared in surprise at the person standing behind him.

“Who the hell do you think you are?”

Jagger spun around and saw Torrin, dressed in a delivery uniform and holding a paper bag. He sneered. “A delivery boy wants to play hero? Get lost.”

Torrin’s brow furrowed. “I heard you insult Larissa.”

“So what if I did?” Jagger shot back. “Larissa is a worthless slu–oof!”

Before he could finish the word, Torrin’s fist connected squarely with his jaw. Jagger stumbled backward, crashing onto the table of Avril’s booth and sending glasses and bottles shattering to the floor.

Avril stared, stunned. She hadn’t expected the idiot to be quite so impulsive.

“Jagger, are you alright?” the woman cried, rushing to help him up.

Jagger scrambled to his feet, shoving her aside. He pointed a trembling finger at Torrin. “You’re dead, you delivery punk!”

Someone in the crowd whispered, “Jagger, I think that’s the new heir from the Dillon family.”

Jagger squinted. The delivery boy did look familiar. It was Torrin Dillon, the fool who had tried to crash Haskell and Larissa’s engagement party.

He laughed mockingly. “The great Dillon heir is delivering food now? Looks like your family’s already thrown you out again!”
