The Throne of Thorns Novel Chapter 362

Wings of Broken Time by Alina Das 362

Chapter 362

Avril tried to reassure her friends. “Don’t worry. Haskell is here. They wouldn’t dare try anything

funny.”

The three girls glanced at Haskell, whose expression remained calm and unchanged, and nodded. Their families were also prominent in Regal City. If Paxton and Vivica laid a hand on them, their parents would make them pay dearly.

Kiernan was furious. “You ungrateful whelp! Do you have any idea what you’re doing? Get these men out of here now!”

Paxton was unmoved. “I’m sorry, Dad, but since you’ve already declared you’re no longer the head of this family, I don’t have to listen to you. Vivica, go and bring in the two masters to examine him!”

“Right away.” Vivica hurried down the hallway.

Ziggy and Gloría glared at the approaching bodyguards. “Paxton, you’ve got a lot of nerve!”

Paxton’s voice was cold. “As long as you don’t resist, I won’t harm you.”

Gloria noticed her sons tensing up and commanded in a low voice, “Don’t move. Let them.”

Only then did the five men abandon the thought of fighting back.

Soon, everyone was tied up except for Larissa, Haskell, and Crispin, who stood behind Haskell’s wheelchair. When two bodyguards reached for Larissa, their hands suddenly went numb, the skin rapidly turning a dark, purplish–black. They recoiled in terror, staring at their discolored hands in

panic.

Larissa twirled a silver needle between her fingers. “I wouldn’t get any closer if I were you,” she said casually. “I’m poisonous to the touch.”

Paxton frowned. “Back off. Stay away from her.”

The guards immediately retreated from the trio.

“It doesn’t matter if we can’t tie you up, Larissa,” Paxton threatened. “But if you make a single move, your parents will be in danger!”

Larissa’s eyes narrowed. “And if you touch my parents, your son Finley will be next, and Leopold will

never wake up.”

Paxton snorted. He would let her bluff for a little longer.

A moment later, Vivica returned with two elderly men. “Masters, please examine Kiernan,” she said gravely. “We need to know if he’s been possessed or hexed.”

She then turned to the Lincolns. “I hope you’ll bear witness to this.”

Since Helena’s goal was to deal with Larissa, she readily agreed. “Of course.”

Lucius simply grunted in assent.

One of the men, dressed in a gray ritual robe, stepped forward holding a small parchment. He burned it in front of Kiernan and began chanting, his eyes closed. After a long moment, he opened them and

shook his head.

He said to Paxton and Vivica, “Kiernan is not possessed.”

Vivica nodded. “Thank you for your efforts.”

She then turned to the other man, an old shaman in traditional attire. “Master Bryant, please check if he’s been hexed.”

She had already given Bryant his instructions: even if he found nothing, he was to plant a cursed artifact on Kiernan to fabricate proof.

With that in mind, Vivica shot a venomous look at Larissa. “If Kiernan has been hexed, you’re finished!”

Larissa just laughed. “The only ones finished here are you.”

The old man, Master Bryant, said nothing. He approached with a string of bells, but instead of walking toward Kiernan, he stopped in front of Larissa and smiled warmly.

“Larissa, it’s been a long time.”
