Chapter 315
Avril’s eyes were wide as she looked at Larissa hopefully. “Larissa, are we going to save her?” Based on what she knew of Larissa, she wouldn’t let this go, especially when it was such a perfect opportunity to get back at Garrick.
Larissa shook her head. “I’m not going to save her.”
“What?” The answer surprised Avril.
A small smile played on Larissa’s lips. “Because I don’t have to do it myself,” she explained calmly. “I can get Finley to do it for me.”
Avril was even more astonished. “Finley? He hates you. Why would he ever listen to you?”
“You’ll see,” Larissa replied, her expression confident and assured.
Now, Avril was truly intrigued.
Backstage at the auction house.
When Mr. Lawson revealed that the poison expert was his own sister, Finley felt as if he had misheard. He stood frozen. “Mr. Lawson, what did you just say?”
Honora’s face, hidden behind her mask, turned grim. “That’s not a funny joke, Mr. Lawson.”
“Who’s joking?” Mr. Lawson sighed. “Larissa is the poison expert I told you about. Her medical skills are incredible, but her mastery of poisons is unparalleled. And only she can cure them.”
The confirmation hit Honora like a physical blow. She felt dizzy. After everything, her life was once again in Larissa’s hands. It was an impossible pill to swallow.
Finley first muttered in disbelief, “How can it be Larissa?”
Then, his shock turned to anger. “Mr. Lawson, if you knew it was her, why didn’t you tell me sooner? Why did you keep me in suspense for so long?”
Finally, terror set in. If Larissa was the expert, what would happen to the poison inside him?
Hearing the accusation in Finley’s tone, Mr. Lawson’s pleasant demeanor vanished. “And why, exactly, would I be obligated to tell you the expert’s identity? Are you blaming me now?”
“Let me be frank,” he continued, his voice sharp. “Ms. Judson specifically asked me not to tell you. If you want to blame someone, blame yourself for being blind and offending her. If your family had just accepted her from the beginning, imagine how well off you’d all be right now!”
Mr. Lawson’s words crushed Finley. His last hope was gone. The terror of his impending fate was now overshadowed by a wave of suffocating regret.
Mr. Lawson was right. If his parents had accepted Larissa, if he had accepted his own sister, none of this would have happened.
Seeing Finley’s despair, Mr. Lawson offered a piece of advice. “Mr. Judson, if you want to live, I suggest you figure out a way to appease Ms. Judson. Forgiveness is probably off the table, but she

might be willing to spare you and provide the antidote.”
He then shot a meaningful glance at the masked Honora, “As for your adopted sister… she’ll have to pray for her own luck.”
Honora nearly screamed in frustration. She wanted to lash out, to curse him, but she restrained herself. She couldn’t afford to ruin her image.
There had to be another way to cure the poison and restore her face. There had to be.
After leaving Mr. Lawson’s office, Finley said distractedly, “Honora, you should go home. I have something to take care of.”
Honora didn’t ask what it was. She already knew. Mr. Lawson’s words had hit their mark. He was going to beg Larissa for help.
Though she knew his intentions, she could only play the part of the understanding sister. “Okay, Finley. Don’t worry too much about the cure. I’ll look for a solution too. There must be other options besides begging Larissa.”
