Wings of Broken Time by Alina Das 307
Chapter 307
“That was me…” Avril started to explain, not wanting Larissa to be misunderstood.
But Larissa stopped her. Faced with Honora’s accusation, she had no intention of denying it. She raised an eyebrow, a mocking smile on her lips.
“That’s right, I was talking about you. What about it? You’re a person worth talking
about–with a vile mother who swapped you at birth and a personality that’s just as
malicious and hypocritical.”
Avril realized Larissa was right. Why should she defend her? Honora and Finley didn’t deserve an explanation.
It was happening again. Larissa’s reactions were always so unexpected that Honora was lef speechless.
Most people, caught gossiping, would have been flustered. But Larissa not only admitte she used the opportunity to bring up her birth mother.
It was infuriating.
“Honora, weren’t you poisoned and disfigured?” Larissa asked, deliberately twisting the knife. “Shouldn’t you be in a hospital preparing for a full blood transfusion instead of being here?”
She could see that Honora was wearing a mask and sunglasses to hide the swelling on her face from the lingering poison.
At Larissa’s words, Honora instinctively glanced around, pulling her mask tighter to ensure no one was paying attention.
Finley stepped forward, his voice cold. “The venomous scorpion that bit Honora–you controlled it, didn’t you?”
“Careful, Finley. Don’t make baseless accusations again,” Larissa warned. “Wasn’t Grandpa’s punishment last night enough for you? Are you looking for another beating?”
Finley’s face darkened at the memory of the previous night’s ordeal.
Avril chimed in. “If you ask me, Finley, your adopted sister is just getting what she deserves for being so wicked. There’s probably more karma coming her way.”
Hidden by her sunglasses, Honora glared daggers at Avril. But since Avril was a Palmer, she couldn’t lash out. Instead, she feigned innocence. “Avril, I don’t believe I’ve ever offended you. Why would you say such cruel and baseless things?”
“Because I can’t stand you, that’s why,” Avril said bluntly. “When Haskell was at the top of his game, you were stuck to him like glue. But the moment he was disabled, you abandoned him within a month and acted like you were the victim!”

Chapter 307
Honora quickly tried to defend herself, “You’ve misunderstood. I never gave up on Haskell. I’ve been trying my best to find a way to help…”
“Save it. I don’t believe you, and neither does Haskell,” Avril interrupted. “Now that Larissa is here to treat him, we don’t need your fake concern. You should worry about your own face!”
Larissa added with a smirk, “Honora, if you wait any longer, the damage will be permanent. Of course, if the blood transfusion doesn’t work, you could always get extensive plastic surgery for a complete makeover.”
Honora’s hands clenched into fists. Realizing they were getting nowhere arguing with them, Finley decided to cut his losses.
“Don’t get too smug, Larissa,” he said coldly. “I’ve already found a way to cure the poison Honora’s system and restore her face completely.”
“Oh? And what way is that?” Larissa asked, feigning ignorance.
Finley saw no reason to hide it. “Mr. Lawson knows a poison expert who he claims can neutralize any toxin. That expert will be at the auction house today.”
“I see. So that’s why you’re here,” Larissa’s smirk deepened. “No wonder you’ve been so defiant these last two days. You even dared to accuse me of summoning those venomous creatures at my engagement party in front of everyone.”
