The Throne of Thorns Novel Chapter 305

Wings of Broken Time by Alina Das 305

Chapter 305

“Larissa, that’s enough! I told you to leave. Don’t push your luck!” Helena warned sharply.

Only then did Larissa stop. “Well, your son was the one who said I couldn’t go,” she said with a shrug. “But since you’ve given the order, my mother and I will take our leave.”

She walked back to Sapphira, who rose and offered Helena a faint, triumphant smile. “Thank you

for your hospitality. We’ll be going now.”

“Mom…” Jagger started to protest again, his words muffled.

“Shut up!” Helena cut him off before he could finish. “Look at the state you’re in! Do you think your face is made of steel?”

Jagger closed his mouth, swallowing the words stuck in his throat. He could only glare at Larissa, vowing silently that he would make her pay.

Josette felt another pang of resentment. Jagger never listened to a word she said, but he obeyed his mother instantly.

Having achieved their goal, Larissa and Sapphira left the Lincoln estate with their heads held high.

Back in the car, Larissa didn’t head home.

“Mom, I need to go to the main auction house in Regal City. I won’t be going back with you.”

After dealing with Josette and Jagger, it was time to put Finley and Honora in their place.

“Alright.” Sapphira nodded and took a black card from her purse. “Your father had this made especially for you. Take it. If you see anything you like at the auction, don’t hesitate to bid on it.”

Larissa accepted the card, her face breaking into a radiant smile. “Okay, then! You can tell Dad I won’t be holding back. If I like it, I’m buying it.”

In truth, Larissa wasn’t short on money, but she knew her new parents enjoyed spoiling her, so she graciously accepted their generosity. They were a family now, after all.

Seeing her so happy, Sapphira’s own spirits lifted. “Don’t be polite. Everything your father d I have will be yours one day. Now, drive safely.”

“I will.”

After watching Larissa drive away, Sapphira immediately called her husband and recounted everything that had happened at the Lincoln estate.

“Neville, while Larissa and I are safe for now, she slapped Jagger several times for my sake. He’s definitely going to hold a grudge and look for a chance to get revenge on her.” She didn’t

regret the confrontation, but she wanted to ensure she and her husband could shoulder some of the risk for Larissa.

On the other end of the line, Neville’s voice was calm. “I understand. Don’t worry, I’ll find a way to keep her safe.”

“Good.”

After hanging up, Neville put his phone away and pressed a button on the back of the neck of a robot sitting silently before him. The robot had androgynous features and short hair, its gender indistinguishable.

With a soft beep, the button glowed red, and the robot’s eyes opened. Its face was devoid of expression, its gaze vacant.

“Boss, what is my mission?” the robot asked, its voice cold and emotionless.

Neville held out a photograph. “Listen carefully, 001. You have only one mission: protect my daughter’s safety at all times.”

The robot looked at the photo of a young woman in a stunning evening gown, her expres bold and confident. Its vacant eyes flickered for a fraction of a second before it responded in the same monotone, “Your daughter’s appearance has been registered. 001 will complete the mission at all costs and ensure no harm comes to your daughter.”
