If we do, everyone will think they can walk all over Larissa without consequence. As her mother, I will not let her be bullied into silence.”
Larissa’s heart warmed.
“Grandpa, my mother is right. I’m not letting this go,” she said, her voice firm. “And don’t worry. I’m only there to make Aunt Josette honor her bet.
As long as the Lincoln family doesn’t interfere, I have no quarrel with them. But if they choose to be unreasonable, then I see no reason to be polite. After all, Aunt Josette has been married to Jagger for years, and the Lincolns have never offered any significant support to our family. We don’t owe them any special treatment.”
