Upon returning to the Wilson family villa, Kenneth yanked Wendy out of the car and hurried into the house.

In the living room, Christopher, Hannah, and Lady Wilson were gathered. When the parents noticed Kenneth and Wendy rushing upstairs without acknowledging them, a palpable awkwardness filled the air.

Lady Wilson scolded dismissively, “What’s so uncomfortable about it? You’re benefiting from this, aren’t you? The five million dollars Kenneth gave to Wendy—do you have it now?”

“Yes, Mom, it’s in my possession,” Christopher confirmed.

Lady Wilson sighed, her tone softening slightly. “See? If Wendy and Kenneth grow closer, he might even give you fifty million dollars! That money would end up in your pocket, wouldn’t it? Just think about it.”

Christopher felt a wave of relief wash over him at his mother’s words.

The primary reason they had approved of the relationship was simply financial gain.

The down payment is around five or six million, and while we’ve saved enough for that, we still lack funds for renovations and furniture. But now, with Wendy’s five million and our savings, we could easily afford the Thompson First house!”

Christopher sighed in frustration. “You’re absolutely right! The White family are nothing but con artists and liars!”

Hannah waved her hand dismissively. “Forget them. They’ll get what they deserve for how they treated us and our daughter. Let’s focus on the villa instead. There are plenty of villas in Aurous Hill—why don’t we take a drive around tomorrow to explore?”

“Sounds good! Let’s start at Golden Crown Park. I’ve heard their villas are quite lovely!”
