Early the next morning, Claire awoke and decided to apply some makeup.

After she finished, Charlie felt a surge of excitement; she looked absolutely stunning.

Curious, he asked Claire, “Dear wife, you usually head to work without any makeup. What’s the occasion today? Are you meeting someone special?”

On a typical day, Claire would leave the house without a trace of makeup, as her natural beauty was more than enough. With her pink, rosy complexion, she seldom felt the need to enhance her appearance.

Claire replied earnestly, “Today is the decoration industry summit in Aurous Hill. Why don’t you join me? It’s a rare honor for the organizer to invite me, especially since I just launched my company. This is a fantastic chance for me to make a mark in the industry. I really want to establish myself and perform well in the future.”

Charlie’s expression shifted to surprise as he asked, “Who is sponsoring this summit? You just started your company; why would they invite you…”

With a smile, Claire explained, “The summit is organized by Emgrand Group! I received an invitation letter from Doris, the vice-chairman of Emgrand.”

“Ah, that makes sense…” Charlie mused. He usually didn’t keep up with corporate affairs, so he was unaware that Emgrand Group was behind the summit.

He also sensed that Doris might have arranged this summit intentionally to support Claire and help her company gain visibility.

In essence, it seemed like a setup for his wife to showcase her talents on a larger stage.

Once Claire was satisfied with her makeup, she urged Charlie to put on a suit before they headed out together.

Upon arriving at the venue, they found it packed with attendees. Many middle-aged men in suits and leather shoes were there, often accompanied by attractive women.

Charlie, lacking connections in the decoration and refurbishment sectors, felt a bit out of place. However, Claire had spent considerable time in this industry while working for the Wilson Group, so she quickly recognized and greeted a few familiar faces upon entering.

As Charlie accompanied Claire during her conversations, he suddenly noticed a crowd gathering around a middle-aged man, who was being praised and applauded.

With keen eyes, Charlie immediately recognized the woman beside the middle-aged man—Wendy!

Intrigued, he asked Claire, “Wife, didn’t the Wilson Group go bankrupt? What’s Wendy doing here?”

Claire glanced over and shook her head, saying, “I’m not sure who decided to invest in the Wilson Group. They’ve resumed their business operations over the past few days.”

Charlie frowned at this news.

“That’s Chairman Wilson?!” the other replied, astonished. “So, he’s also the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce?”

“Yes, that’s him!”

“How did someone from Eastcliff manage to become the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce?”

“The Modestway Group operates numerous businesses nationwide. He likely became chairman because the Moore family didn’t compete for that position. Otherwise, they could have taken it easily.”

Charlie continued to frown, absorbing their conversation.
