As the Wilson family sat in distress, lamenting and casting blame on Charlie, two sleek Rolls-Royce vehicles pulled up outside their villa.
From the cars emerged six bodyguards clad in black. One of them swiftly opened the door of the rear car, allowing a distinguished middle-aged man in his fifties to step out.
This man was impeccably dressed in an exquisite, handmade suit from a prestigious designer. He exuded a sense of authority and sophistication.
Holding a copy of the Wilson family tree, the man inquired of his assistant, “Is this the Wilson family residing in Aurous Hill?”
The assistant confirmed, “Yes, Mr. Wilson. I checked with the Civil Affairs Bureau, and this is indeed the Wilson family in Aurous Hill.”
“Very well,” the middle-aged man replied, surveying the Wilson family villa. “I didn’t expect the Wilson family here to be in such a state. It seems they truly are our less fortunate relatives…”
The assistant quickly suggested, “Mr. Wilson, perhaps we should leave now? Engaging with these less privileged individuals might be bothersome.”
With a subtle wave of his hand, the middle-aged man responded, “Even though we’ve lost touch with the Aurous Hill Wilson family for quite some time, my father always mentioned that someone from this branch saved his life during the Resistance War. He wished to express his gratitude in person but was unable to due to his paralysis. Thus, I felt it was important to come here on his behalf. Additionally, I wish to update our genealogy records.”
Curious, the assistant asked, “Mr. Wilson, what’s the background of your family tree?”
The assistant gasped, “Wow! It’s incredible that there is such a connection and history between your families.”
Meanwhile, the Wilson family was huddled together, mourning their misfortunes. When the doorbell rang, Christopher quickly wiped his tears and stepped into the courtyard to answer the door.
He was met by a middle-aged man, slightly older than himself, who wore an air of arrogance. Noticing the two Rolls-Royce vehicles and the six bodyguards, Christopher realized this was no ordinary visitor. He asked, “How can I assist you?”
The middle-aged man smiled and inquired, “Are you a descendant of the Wilson family?”
Christopher instinctively nodded, “Yes, I am part of the Wilson family. How may I help you?”
The man introduced himself, “Hello. I’m Kenneth Wilson, the head of the Wilson family from Eastcliff.”
“The Wilson family in Eastcliff?” Christopher responded, puzzled. “I’ve never heard of it before.”
With a smile, Kenneth explained, “We share a common ancestry and could be considered distant relatives. My father and your father were distant cousins.”
Surprised, Christopher asked, “Are you also a member of the Wilson family?”
“Yes,” Kenneth confirmed. “I’m here today because my father asked me to visit you to express his gratitude to your father in person. I’d also like to get to know you better and establish a connection for the future.”
As he spoke, Kenneth pulled out a business card and handed it to Christopher. “Here’s my business card.”
Christopher took the card and was taken aback upon seeing it. Kenneth Wilson, chairman of Modestway Group?
Modestway Group was a highly renowned publicly listed company!
Overjoyed, Christopher exclaimed, “Chairman Wilson! I’ve admired your work for quite some time!”
He quickly added, “Chairman Wilson, what is the connection between your father and mine? My father passed away over three years ago.”
Kenneth sighed, “That’s truly unfortunate. My father also passed away last year. Before he died, he often expressed a desire to meet the person who saved his life. I didn’t expect his benefactor to pass away just before he could have met him…”
