Chapter 762
Judy’s POV
“Well, that was weird,” Nan said, her eyes following Erik as he disappeared into the bathroom.
“Yeah, what do you think that was all about?” I asked, my eyes finding Irene.
“He’s just being dramatic,” Irene said, rolling her eyes.
“I’ve never seen him like that before,” I pointed out, raising my brows. “That boy was on a serious mission.”
Erik returned after a few minutes with the biggest grin on his face. Just as he sat down, Amelia returned to take
our orders. After she walked away, taking our menus with her, we all turned to Erik at the same time.
“Okay, spill it. What are you up to?” I say, narrowing my eyes at the gamma who had become one of my closest
friends.
“So my buddy, who I went to the academy with, happens to be Alpha Jeremy’s head gamma, Raul,” Erik said, making my eyes widen. “I called him to see if he could come up with some excuse as to why Alpha Gavin would need to go to their territory. Turns out, this weekend is Alpha Jeremy’s annual masquerade.”
“I’ve heard of the masquerade, but he doesn’t usually invite other Lycans,” Irene said, frowning.
“Not yet,” Erik said with a sly grin. “But after Raul speaks to him, I’m thinking that might change this year. I
told him I’ll need at least four invites with plus ones.
“And who would be included in this trip?” Nan asked, staring between us.
“All of us,” I said without hesitation. “Obviously, I’d be Gavin’s plus one… you’d be Chesters, and then a ticket for Irene and Erik would just go solo. Boom, four tickets.”
Erik nodded.
“Exactly,”
“Do you really think my father would go for that? What if he declines the invitation?” Irene asked, folding her
arms across her chest.
“It doesn’t hurt to try,” I stated calmly. “I’ll talk to him once we get the invites, and then we will go from
there.”

They all looked at me questionably; Irene nibbled on her lower lip nervously. I knew she was nervous about what she was about to find out when it came to her mate. I didn’t want to think that her true mate was stepping out on her, but none of it made sense. I would think he’d do anything in his power to make sure Irene was closer
to him. Gavin would never let me live in a different territory, and he’s already proved that to me.
Irene deserved the same treatment from her mate, and the fact that she wasn’t getting it made my heart ache
for her. I would do anything to put that smile back on her face again, and if that meant traveling halfway across
the world, then I’d do it.
Gavin’s POV
I furrowed my brows when I stared at the invitation on my computer screen. Jeremy’s Masquerade? He held the
same masquerade ball every year, and not once had he ever invited another Lycan to this event. It was for his
territory and his territory alone. It was his way of giving back to a community that had done so much for him.
We had our own events like that as well, and I respected Jeremy for doing the same.
I had no bad blood with Jeremy… or even Mica for that matter… like I did with Levi. I wondered why there had
been a sudden change of heart.
“4 invitations?” I said softly. “Why 4?”
I would have thought maybe I received this invite by mistake, but my name was front and center.
I pressed the intercom button, hearing it crackle to life.
“Elana,” I called my receptionist downstairs. “What’s my schedule for the weekend?”
“You have that meeting with Alpha Sampson on Friday. Other than that, your weekend is free, Alpha,” she
replied immediately.
