Married at First Sight Chapter 969

Chapter 969
Grandma May was relieved that Duncan was not her grandson.
As she thought about Zachary, she sighed quietly.
Birds of a feather flock together.
Duncan was a close friend of Zachary, and they shared many similarities.
After Duncan discussed the utility bill with the housekeeper, he hung up the phone and remarked, “The amount is just right.”
He took out his wallet, placed the rent he had just received inside, and said to Liberty, “In the future, just use Apple Pay to transfer the amount to my housekeeper or me. I’ll instruct him to keep a record.”
Liberty nodded and explained, “I transferred the amount last month, but the card linked to my account reached its limit this month, so I had to withdraw cash using my bankbook.”
The bank card associated with her Apple Pay account was designated for everyday expenses, while she kept most of her money in a different account.
“Do you need help with anything else?”
Liberty quickly replied, “Everything is set. We’re just waiting to open.”
“Have you distributed flyers?”
Liberty smiled. “There’s no need for that. The store has been under renovation for a long time, so everyone passing by has seen it. Now that my signboard is up, everyone can see what business I’m running.”
Her target market was the employees of nearby companies and factories. It would be challenging to attract workers from farther away, even if she wanted to.
Competition was fierce, as many breakfast diners operated on this street.
She hoped to make a living here.
All her hopes were pinned on this store.
Duncan remained silent.
After wandering around the store, he considered sitting down but noticed Grandma May’s persistent gaze on him. He felt guilty. Although he wasn’t doing anything wrong, he couldn’t shake the feeling of discomfort.

Did she feel guilty when she looked at him like that?
“Go ahead. I’ll leave now, but I’ll come by to support you on opening day.”
Duncan dared not stay long, worried about Grandma May’s penetrating gaze that seemed to see right through him.
It was no surprise that someone as strong as Zachary was compelled to marry.
Grandma May was truly a force to be reckoned with.
This thought reminded Duncan of his own grandmother. If she were still alive, perhaps he would be married too.
The only difference between him and Zachary was that his friend still had his nana.
“You’re a busy man, Mr. Lewis. Just let me know what you’d like for breakfast, and I’ll prepare it for you. You can stop by and pick it up when you’re passing through. There’s no need for you to wait around and waste your time.”
There was also no reason for a high-powered CEO like him to eat breakfast in her small diner.
Liberty felt that someone like Duncan should enjoy breakfast in a place like Wiltspoon Hotel, not in her modest establishment.
“It’s fine.”
Duncan simply wanted to show his support for Liberty.
