Married at First Sight Chapter 961

Chapter 961
“Mrs. York.”
“Mrs. York.”
Upon seeing Serenity enter, the two receptionists greeted her with respectful smiles.
Serenity returned their smiles, appreciating their consistent kindness towards her.
One of the receptionists stepped away from the desk to lead Serenity to the elevator entrance, noticing the insulated lunch boxes she was carrying.
“Zachary hasn’t been feeling well lately, so I brought him some food. It’s almost lunch break, right?”
Serenity had arrived early.
The receptionist looked concerned. “Mr. York isn’t feeling well? He should really take better care of himself.”
She thought to herself, ‘The CEO has been working tirelessly and often skips meals. Usually, it’s Mr. Chaplin who brings him food at the office, but I’ve heard that Mr. York frequently forgets to eat due to his hectic schedule.’
‘It makes sense that he’s having stomach issues.’
“We’ll be having our lunch break soon,” the receptionist added.
She led Serenity to the CEO’s private elevator, pressed the button to keep the doors open, and courteously invited her inside. Serenity entered the elevator with her two insulated lunch boxes, smiled at the receptionist, and then rode the elevator alone to the top floor.
As soon as she exited the elevator, she was greeted by Mr. Chaplin’s broad smile.
Surprised, she stared at Mr. Chaplin, wondering why he appeared so cheerful that his eyes were nearly closed.
“Hello, Mrs. York. I’m Mr. York’s secretary. You can call me Mr. Chaplin.”
“Hello, Mr. Chaplin,” Serenity replied politely. “Is your boss available now? Can I go in, or will I be interrupting?”

“him?” Mr. Chaplin smiled and replied, “No, you can simply knock on the door.” He intentionally withheld this information from Zachary to surprise him. “However, the COO is inside,” Mr. Chaplin noted.

Callum approached Zachary to voice his frustrations about their grandmother pressuring him to marry. She had given him a photo of the woman, providing details about her appearance, age, and current profession, but he was otherwise in the dark.

Serenity smiled. “Thank you, Mr. Chaplin.” Fortunately, she had brought two lunch boxes, so if Callum wanted to join her, there would be enough food for both.

Mr. Chaplin escorted Serenity to Zachary’s office door and knocked. After receiving permission to enter, he opened the door for Serenity and watched her step inside alone, choosing not to follow.

Once Serenity was inside, he promptly closed the door, returned to his desk to tidy up, and prepared for his lunch break. He could enjoy an extra serving today! His recently frayed nerves finally began to ease.

“Seren.”

Zachary could hardly contain his joy upon seeing his beloved wife enter; he felt an overwhelming happiness.

“Serenity.”

Callum stood up to greet her and offered her his seat. Zachary dropped his pen and rose to meet his wife.

Callum quietly stepped aside, reflecting, ‘I spoke to him for over half an hour, yet he barely acknowledged me. It’s as if he transformed into a different person the moment Serenity walked in.’

Despite this, Callum was genuinely pleased to see Serenity. Everyone knew that Grandma May had instructed Zachary to avoid disturbing Serenity while she took time to relax. Zachary felt unsettled when he couldn’t see his wife, so he…

began to torment everyone else. Perhaps he was unaware of how exhausting it was for those beneath him to keep pace with his exceptional efficiency.
