Noah refused to divulge any more information, insisting that was all he knew.
“I’m the youngest, so they never involve me in their discussions. They only share a little when they need my help. I truly don’t know anything else.”
Serenity did not pressure him to speak further.
She handed him his phone.
Noah assumed she was simply returning it and hastily accepted it. Just as he was about to thank her, she said, “Delete all the photos you took!”
Noah was left speechless.
“Make sure you delete every single one. If you don’t, I’ll smash your phone, remove your SIM card, and toss it into the large river up ahead.”
Noah quickly replied, “I’ll delete them. I’ll delete everything.”
He felt extremely unlucky.
This was the first time he had been sent out for detective work, and he had already been caught.
Inwardly, Noah cursed Serenity. Every time he targeted her, he seemed to make a mistake.
Under Serenity’s watchful gaze, he unlocked his phone and handed it back to her. He dared not say a word as she deleted all the photos he had taken.
She even opened his WhatsApp to check his conversations with John and the others. They discussed plans for retaliating against her, but Noah hadn’t sent any photos. He likely hadn’t had time to do so after secretly taking them.
After ensuring all the photos were deleted, Serenity returned the phone to him and warned, “If this happens again, I’ll hand you over to Mr. York. His methods are far more ruthless than mine.”
“He won’t kill you, but he can make your life a living hell.”
Noah’s face turned pale.
If Serenity was already terrifying, Mr. York was even worse.
“I swear, I won’t do this again. No matter what benefits they offer, I won’t.”
Noah fell into despair.
Serenity had manipulated him twice without any gains. He despised her, yet he couldn’t escape her grasp. He truly was unfortunate. It would have been better if he had been assigned to follow Liberty and capture her photographs instead.
